Hmmmm why remove the cover? A true street racer would hide what he's done the the engine with the cover. But then again I'm not a true street racer. And that cover adds weight so be gone with it...

Wouldn't a ProCharger, like and D1 or F1, with a 3 core yield more HP? Like 750 or so with matched cam and stuff on an LS?

Umm... If you did any major upgrades, the cover would not fit anyway. And its gotta weigh like a 1/2 lb. Might as well just jog a mile a week and save the weight in driver stats.

Looks like the oil cap is missing in this pic. Maybe it's built into the engine cover.

its probably more likely that he took it off to get the engine cover off, took the picture w/o putting the cap back on.

Well, the logical answer to all of this was for GM engineers to design the wire loom and hose routing to be clean, with neat, 90 degree corners wherever possible and tucked away off the top of the engine. You look at other mfgs, and they do not need covers to hide hideous workmanship:

There are some wires and hoses visible which is to be expected, but they are neatly organized and look great..... that is the real intake manifold on there. The valve covers pop out at you. The only covers are the carbon fiber caps at the front and back of the engine.

Everything Audi does is a work of art
