But yeah, I would say yes too. I am so glad I held out and ended up with a 2ss instead of 2lt. Of course, I am warming up for my mid life crisis. The only way to make it really special is if you ride there in style. The only way to go from here is way up! |

Ya, and I hire 16 year olds to do my bitc@ work.
You don't make much when your that young. I bet when you were 16 kids weren't as worthless as they are now. I hired a 50 year old bum this year because 16 year olds are just too damn lazy these days.

A few people have mentioned it, I'll repeat it. You're extremely fortunate to have such a nice car. The V6 has plenty of everything.
Try to look at from your Dad's potential perspective: imagine how he might feel hearing his son isn't satisfied with that beautiful Chevrolet Camaro we bought him for Christmas. I sure wouldn't want to hear that from my son. I might even consider that an insult.

I'd say be thankful for what you have, You're furtunate to have parents that are able to do this. If you can get a V8 then go for it. Just becareful and be diplomatic in the way you ask your dad for an upgrade. He could take it as you beign ungrateful and a smack in the face.

So let me get this straight,... because your dad's gift isn't good enough for you anymore you now want them to trade it for an SS that will cost them even more. Who is going to pay for the added difference between the car you have now and an SS and also pay for the additional insurance? Do you even have a job? You sure make yourself sound like a spoilled ungratefull brat, but maybe I have misread something.

I don't think you misread it. That pretty much sums it up, and I might add, the parents are the real problem here, not the kid. |

What are you going to want when the V8 isn't enough? The V6 has plenty of power unless you're at a drag strip, trying to foolishly street race, are financially off to just want the extra power or trying to impress other people. Do I want a V8? Yes! But at 16, you probably need more driving experience to handle 400+ HP. I'm 41 and the V6 is fine for me. I drove 4 bangers when my parents were paying the bills and was just happy to have wheels. If you're Dad will swing an SS, more power to you. That would be awesome, just be careful.

How long have you had the V6 less than a year? I wouldn't try and push for the V8 until you have proven that you can actually take care of the car that they gave you.

I completely agree with this. If you're fortunate enough to have gotten a brand new car from your parents, you should consider yourself very lucky. But growup and get your next car completely on your own... unless you plan on remaining dependent on your parents for the rest of your life.

Absolutely!I bet if this kid had purchased the V6 with money that he had saved up from working a paper route and odd jobs for the past 4 years and had a part time job while he was in school to maintain and pay off the V6, even if his parents were helping him with lets say insurance... The V6 would be plenty of power for him and he wouldn't have a complaint at all. |

If I did that to my dad he would consider it a slap in the face. Be happy with what you have, mod it if you wish. Then in a few years when the new body styles come out, get an SS.
