People should just stop justifying having a V6.

Who cares if it is v6 or v8, it is a camaro!

V8 and V6 are there for different needs!

I have a v6 camaro that fullfills my needs, this is the car I wanted! I won't trade it anytime soon for a v8. People should start to be responsible and think things over before spending 25k+ on a car!

And to answer your question, no, a v6 Camaro is in no way a muscle car, it is missing two cylinders in there, but still its a hell of a car!

Muscle Car Definition
The definition of a muscle car is a mid-size model car, with V8 engines, generally produced between 1965 and 1973. Most muscle cars were current mid-size models being produced by car manufacturers, and they added a large V8 engine, special trim, and usually better handling and performance options like suspension, braking, etc. A good example of this is the 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle. This model was designed as a mid-size family vehicle and the base model was powered by a lonely ‘ol 4 cylinder engine, or you could team it up with the biggest muscle car engine of it’s time, the 454.
What in the world have you been smoking! The Chevelle NEVER came with a 4 cylinder motor! It had a 155 hp straight 6 as a base engine, get your facts straight before you mouth off!

Both the v8 and v6 and referred to as pony cars. Not sure if I'm right but I believe people would say they are muscle cars but technically they are pony car. I thought the only reason people think that means mustang is because mustang was first and camaro didn't exist yet. Maybe someone knows the right answer but I dont think they posted. I think the term muscle car is used loosely anyway.

Not true. Look at the numbers-- and at the '97 Z/28 I beat the other day. It's faster than most of the old V8s.

But I'd call it a HUSTLE car not a MUSCLE car.

BTW IMO this thread is asking for a completely unnecessary war. Leave off already with this BS!

"Muscle cars" were made in the 60s and 70s. Period. They were defined by lots of horsepower and strong straight-line acceleration.

So new Camaros are not muscle cars.
