Yup- and I fit that bill- kind of...

I did order October 13th at 9:00 am. BUT I canceled that order and re-ordered with another dealer (who was accepting GMS/GSU) on Jan 31st. I still got my car built long before many others. Was it "right"? Probably not, but in my defense, I did originally order on day one so I don't really feel bad about it.

HEY CAMAROPETE! WHOA HOLD ON THERE BIG FELLA - Not sure when you decided that the "first oderers" don't have a legitimate beef and should "quit yer bitchin!" And its not really nice to say "shut your mouth"!
SO maybe we all don't have an advanced degree in Business Economics and a Masters in Production Management.

SOOOOO - don't take an attitude with me young man (as my sainted mother would say), we are looking for some info, not really expecting our cars to be personally delivered to our driveways tomorrow, although that would be nice!

KJS, as I said in the other thread that got locked. I am not telling anyone that they can't complain and I said that I would be the first to tell you that I think GM could have done things differently. My point is that this forum is slowly becoming a giant bitch fest. People can't find useful information anymore because it is thread after thread of people complaining because production started 17 days, THAT'S 17 FREAKING DAYS, and they haven't gotten their cars yet. This is despite GM saying that it takes 6-8 weeks from the time an order is accepted to when the car is delivered. So who on here has been waiting 6-8 weeks since their order got picked up? Those people please step forward and complain all you want. The rest of us need to relax and give time for GM to do their job.

whats happening is that the cars are still being gone over with a fine toothed comb. but im sure that if everyone got their car tomorrow without it going thru rigorous QA, they would bitch about all the little imperfections that didnt get fixed.

I just cant help but think what would happen if GM had not given us build numbers and allocation numbers. and only passed that info to the dealers. that way NO ONE would know where they were in relation to their car being built till the car was actually shipped.

and Pete isnt saying that you dont have a legitimate beef, but you have to keep in mind that we've got 2309487234087 threads about this. I'm sorry your car isnt in your driveway right now. Im sorry that mine wont be here till after october. but you know what... thats fine. you dont see CGM buyers bitching about their cars, cus they know they wont be coming out till June at the earliest. even Tag's car, ya know... the first CGM off the line, he wont get it till around June. and from the pics that we got from the Mole, his car has already been built. but its still going to be another 2 months before he gets it. and you dont see him bitching and complaining about that. (granted the fact he's getting the first CGM has its part) but the point still stands.

as said in other threads, GM never said that this was a first come first serve setup. but apparently no one took the time to ask that question.

What? This totally goes against what CamaroPete just stated:

"This is despite GM saying that it takes 6-8 weeks from the time an order is accepted to when the car is delivered. So who on here has been waiting 6-8 weeks since their order got picked up?"

So, his ordered must have been accepted a few weeks ago, add that to 8 more weeks and I'd say he is WAY over
the timeline.

AND I'LL SAY IT AGAIN Don't tell others on this forum or thread to SHUT UP! I was trying to interject some humor on this, to calm things down which apparently you did not get.

IF it makes people feel better to "bitch" to their buds, let them. I think things have gotten too personal here. No one is attacking you that you need to write in large print THAT'S 17 FREAKING DAYS.

AND AGAIN - PEACE ! AND MORE SMILES!

keep in mind that tag is also flying across the country to pick up his car. along with getting some "special things" done to it prior to his arrival.

Tag's car is not being delivered to his town. or even his state. and we arent sure if the "mole's" pics are of tags car or not.

a CGM camaro being built on the line gets photographed last week.... add 6-8 weeks to that... and wait... could it be? yes... june is about 6-8 weeks from now.... or maybe GM swapped the months around so that June is next month isntead of May.

seems like that matches exactly to what pete quoted from GM.....

(not tryin to sound like a smart ass, just expounding on what I meant)

KJS, I know not to take you too seriously, and really appreciate your humor, but I too took that previous post as dead serious. We've all been experiencing delays from the one month delay in production to finding out #1 priority didn't mean squat at a small dealership.
It might be correct to call this the critical mass point, but it's the culmination of complaints about delays and other rather nitpicky points that took Pete to his current frustration with the forum, and he's not alone. It's gone a little too far lately.
And like he said, we're only approaching 7 weeks since the first orders were submitted for production, not the 8 weeks GM has said it might take.

Ah, there are some things in there I was not aware of, but I'm still curious as to when his order was accepted as this is when the 6 to 8 weeks was to begin, not 6 to 8 weeks after being built. Sorry for beating a dead horse.
I'll stop now.

Stepping up. Oh, and add trm0002 to this list as well. Our orders were pulled Feb 10th............4 days will be two months........now, I know production hadn't started during that time, but nobody really knew when anything was going on. All we kept hearing was "start of regular production". They could have been building our cars during that time, right? It's not like Hendrick's car actually rolled off first either......it was brought back on the line I'm sure for the picture op. Much like the raising of the flag on Iwo Jima!

Anyway, I just want information. That's all any of us want. And we have no avenue to get it. GM has a useless 800 number, 80Zedder even said so. God forbid you need to actual call for customer assistance if you break down.
