maybe invest in a tutor lol

the invoice is a set price from gm as is the msrp.
you probably will not get any new car below invoice nowadays dont plan on the impossible
not impossible at all to get a car priced under invoice....

That doesn't matter. Your insurance company will go nuts on your age along.

You say you have $18K saved for a car. Just out of curiosity, are your college expenses saved up for? What is the plan for that?

I don't need any fancy insurance. Just $600/half-year is fine. Plus I get like what? ~$120 off with the Good Student discount?

My parents have that covered. UofM instate.
I like how the insurance is causing more problems than the car itself XD.

my friend was paying 300 per month because he had tickets, and you cant choose what insurance you get, it is financed you have to have full coverage

While you might be careful, your age will definitely warrant the insurance company charging you an arm and a leg each month, even for basic coverage. Since you have $18k saved up, your insurance will almost definitely be higher than the actual car payment each month.

I argue that the 2LT is a great value (I only went 1LT because I prefer cloth over leather). If you go 2LT you won't be disappointed; and if you're willing to wait till next August, keep in mind that the '13s will be coming out by then and you should get a decent deal if you play your cards right. Good luck. As far as schools go, BE CAREFUL. Camaros in lots like that are just asking for scratches, dings, and other horrible things.

Have you actually priced insurance yet? When I was shopping, I priced a Camaro and ran it for age 17 just for the fun of it to see what came up. It was over $2000 for 6 months with all those discounts. Not a high priced company either. (Currently, I pay around $450 for 6 months for my 5.0 and Alero combined with the same company).

your parents will cosign right, so have it in their name, and it will be higher until you are not a driver listed in the house hold. i am 22 and mine is still in my parents name, because if it wasnt, i couldnt afford the car. mine is 96 a month for a 35,000 car

I'm thinking of doing this: have my parents buy it, but I pay them for each month's mortgage, insurance, etc.
Thus, their credit (very good!), their insurance.

no cosign with them to build your credit, but your rate will be higher
