Residing in 'North America' does not make someone/something 'American'. People from Canada do not call themselves 'American' they are 'Canadian'. People from Mexico do not call themselves 'American' they are 'Mexican'. 'American', when referring to a peoples or origin, is an exclusively United States of America term. If a foreigner says they dislike 'American's' they don't mean people from Canada or Mexico... The Camaro, imo, is American because it's roots/origin is in an American owned company. Regardless of where it's developed or built... |

Canadians hate being called Americans. I cannot speak for the Mexicans though, or the Panamanians, or Hondurans and so on. When reffering to people who live in North America, I would assume that people would use the term North Americans with American refering exclusively to those who live in the United States of America. Otherwise there are about 900 million 'Americans' by the time you include South America too. And back on topic now
