LOL! Go Dodge! Chevrolet vehicles never have any transmission issues and if they do, they are nowhere near complete failure like Dodges'. This is complete fact. My family has had a 1985 Dodge Charger and a 1995 Dodge Dynasty. The Dynasty needed the transmission torn down 3 times and still never shifted correctly when repaired. Dodge nearly bankrupt my parent's and the Dynasty was inherited! What a gift! The best was when my father was vacuuming the backseat and the rear window mysteriously shattered in the street. There were no prior cracks or scratches on it. Just the slight vibration of the vacuum cleaner on the interior and <PLOOOOOOOOOSH!> Beware all you Dodge Challenger lovers, if you think Challenger is cool, beware, it will be true to it's name because it'll be a complete "challenge" keeping that piece of shit on the road for more than 2 years.

Really, I have no beef with Mustangs. Ford quality has improved over the years and seems to have their business credentials in order. They will still pale in comparison to the Camaro though.
dejavu..............you just have really really bad luck...no problems here at allllllllllllll...

We'll read about you in April 2011. "Dodge aficianado Kevin2323 sues Daimyer Chrysler Motor Corporation after the transmission in his Challenger mysteriously fell off the engine while trying to shift gears racing a Chevrolet Aveo at a red light. GM will also be sued for it's aggressive Aveo's body styling that helped traumatize kevin2323. Compensation will also be sought for emotional damages as well."

I park my car wherever I want to. I don't let other people dictate where I can and can't park (except for the government with handicap parking, loading zone, etc). You can't protect your car forever, life is too long, you shouldn't be sweating the small stuff. Violence should never be an option for material things.

Perhaps kevin, but all kidding aside, it isn't so much the age of each platform (engine), it is the overall lasting power that they have. How much can you customize them? Are they easy to tinker with and modify? I think I read a few earlier posts in this thread or perhaps a prior thread that people would be more inclined to purchase a Camaro because the LS3 is highly customizable and that is what makes it more desirable all around. This all adds exciting life to an already monstrous engine. You want a Hemi? Get one in a pick up truck and tow mobile homes. Their torque makes them ideal for pulling. LS3's are more ideal for speed-in-a-hurry. Notice how Dodge has to invoke the engine in order to sell their cars whereas Chevrolet can sell their vehicles by simply mentioning their models (Camaro, Corvette, etc). That's because they sell their cars as complete qualitative packages where everything is quality. Not just one aspect, like the engine. I remember seeing that stupid Dodge commercial where the dude was trying to drive fast and his passenger inhaled his gum and then the driver slammed the brakes and then spit it out onto the windshield. LOL What a joke.

The chally...was being built for an economy that wasn't ransacked yet
Then it was built and a year later we hit this rut in our market...a very big one

Well me being a camaro5 user and a predestined 2SS owner...i would naturally have to say CAMARO

But lets look at it

Camaro...like you said....you save thousands
Challenger...I applaud dodge in the styling..i think its the most classic look currently...but chevy did an awesome job blending new with the old. Dodge kinda just took all old...but i do have to admit...the chally is damn sexy.

Also...with GM's new total confidence plan...GM really wants thier customers to be confident in thier purchase

I mean 5 yr 100,000
9 month job loss payment up to 500 a month
Trade in protection

It only further justified me forking out 35k+ for a car...while i know its not smart shopping to spend that amount of money because of a warranty...it helped me be more at ease with myself knowing that a car is a car and crap happens...and when it does...GM is gonna be there for me and my baby (2SS)

ALL of me wants to force you to buy the camaro...but the Challenger is a cool car and i have always had a soft spot for elephant engines...then also to that...the camaro gets WAY better gas mileage. And its prolly gonna be cheaper to insure.

Also GM cars have always been the cheaper choice to work on. Not so much in the aftermarket but more of the OEM type replacement.

I just hope that the challenger makes it more than 4 years...stupid 1970's EPA...i hate you...destroyed everything...if obama gets rid of the EPA...i'll like him...until then...im no fan

Chally should be a better ride. Good for cruising, fits a family. Based on your finances you won't have much money to mod it once you get it so you'll lose to SS's. It's basically a muscled out version of a 300C and if that's the type of thing you're looking for go for it.

The SS is almost the exact opposite. Kids probably won't fit in the back comfortably past 12 yrs old. It's more of a fun car than a drive everywhere car, IMO. You'll have a bit more money to mod it some. I don't think there's really a GM car to compare it to other than saying it's a CTS coupe on 'roids.

Wait six months, drive them both a few times, R/T, SRT and 1 & 2 SS and decide which works for you.
