I'm glad I put my order in a long time ago for the 2LT Black on Black RS Package. I had a feeling with the high ass demand for this car that GM was gonna increase the price. I been calling my dealer damn near every week trying to find out updated information on this car. GM needs to stop teasing folks and ship the got damn things out.

I talked to my dealer a week ago, and he stated he was just looking at it. He stated since I ordered early I am price protected. My salesman is not on commission, so to him it is about selling the car. Low pressure sales is the way to go.

Yeah my dealer said I was priced protected as well. And given the fact that I already put some money down on the car. I think this announcement applies to those who get the second line of production. Well at least I hope so or uma have to kick somebody's ass...

If they shipped you a car with interior panels that didn't quite match up you would be pissed. Let them get this right. It's still coming to production in faster time than normal.

I give you that. The fact that I WAS seriously thinking about buying this car (although it was a short period until I found out this) means I admit that the car is a great value for money. However, I think this is just another sloppy marketing gimmick that explains why GM is where it is today. A wise (or well prepared) person would have opted of the following two alternatives.

1. Publish the new (increased) prices from the beginning and promote "early order rebates" to lower the prices down to the current prices.
2. Publish the both current and new (increased) prices from the beginning and clearly state 3/31 is the order cut-off date for the lower prices.

At least people would have known the both options (ordering early or waiting) and understood what was the difference from the beginning, thus would have been able to weigh the options. If the increase is like only $100 - $200, then we would be all making a mountain of a mall hole, but my gut tells it will be something significant (guessing about $1K). The way GM is doing this seems VERY opportunistic and normal customers will definitely feel they are being ripped off. Another great way to turn off customers that Toyota and Honda would NEVER do.

There are no early order rebates... it was public stated by GM in a 2010 Camaro e-mail to anyone who asked for more info that pre-orders would be guaranteed the early order pricing. Also, it's been widely known that the price could increase after the pre-order season was over... it's a risk that must be taken. If you hesitate on a good deal, it may not be there tomorrow...

Will this ever end? *sigh*... :(

Just wait until Thursday to see what happens, but don't get your panties in a bunch just yet

all pre orders should be price protected. My dealer stated I will get it at the pre order price.

Bro. If this is their strategy then I would not get it. Actuall all the waiting and anticipation is kinda starting to have the opposite effect on me. Seems my excitement is fadeing. I am sure when I see it my excitement will return. But it's like I have wanted this car for a few years and am getting tired of wanting the dangleing fruit. Kinda like the pictures where a donkey or horse pulling the cart and right in front of him is an apple or carrot on a string to make him walk towards it. After a while he gives up and it stops working.

Now I do not expect many camaros to make it to a dealers lot without being pre-sold already so that won't matter anyway.
Which dealer did you order from. I was just looking at my contract and it said (in fine print) agree to pay MSRP at time of delivery. Have to see what happens when delivered. I may have to walk away and talk to Scotty.

Power Chevrolet off the 405 near LAX. The salesman I ordered from was fired 5 days later for "undisclosed reasons".
