You are absolutely correct. Most people will ALWAYS think that way.

I don't care what car or truck it is - and what color pallette you put in place - you will ALWAYS get the same comments.

That is one of my points that I've been trying to make.......Color is subjective.......and I guarantee you that if I could magically wave a wand

(and I can't by the way - I don't have anything to do with color selection other than I'm asked my opinion - )

....and change all 10 colors to something else - (or if YOU chose 10 colors -- or little boy blue and the man in the moon chose 10 colors -- ) we would STILL get the same comments - because you see - each of us looks at color subjectively - the studies on color are absolutely FASCINATING -- esp. as to what turns people OFF about a color or a shading......

(me? show me a shimmering red metallic that has fire in it and I'm off in the clouds somewhere - just love it - BUT - I don't know that I'd order a Camaro in said color**......)

So - yup - no matter what we do - even if we were to increase the color pallette to 20 colors -- we will still have someone say (in so many words)

"..........the color choices are awful because you don't offer *insert your favorite color of all time here*......"

See what I'm saying????

(....and no, I'm not going to beat you..........)

(........unless you buy a Mustang, perhaps.....

Now to the ** part......

I went thru a couple of sessions on color - one at GM Design Studio that one must go thru to ensure that you are not color blind and that you can 'sense' very subtle color variances - (I went thru it at he same time Cheryl did - long story, but we were both judged to be 'experts'...) --

Another session was with a color expert in New York.......it's a mulit-hour session where you look at various colors and objects and lighting - and you are taken back in time, so to speak - to figure out WHY you love certain shades and colors.....now - my mention of a dark firey red - seems that I link it to a couple of things: - Red Soda, red hard candy, a cheer leader's uniform, red blinking lights found on carnival rides, and red metallic in a drum set........all of this in my subconscious........

...and each of us has this "color memory" - and we have it for all colors and shades - some memories are great - others are so-so - and others can actually cause bad memories.......

As I said - color is NEVER objective - it's SUBJECTIVE -

OK to continue to discuss - I just ask that you realize that no matter what we do - we can't make all of you happy all of the time with all 10 colors.

I think some folks inside who are using "their" subjective interpretations from their subconscious past to come up with today's colors have a keen fondness for

JUJYFRUITS.

That said, I think I can find a color that will make me still maintain my ULTRA GRIN!! I agree with Scott whether you know it or not.

Edit: Excellent point just made about the competitors colors!!!

I like all of the current colors but with no more ABM or SYN I feel they need another unique color. Carbon Flash doesn't count since it's only available on the 45th. Maybe an emerald green metallic or a metallic yellow?

Interesting stuff about the way the colors are chosen.

Now I can't imagine why I haven't been clamoring for a car in Hooter's Girl Orange.

Seriously though, my favorite time of day is right after the sunset, as the sky is darkening. I guess it's no wonder I'm taken with Dusk Blue.

I hadn't even thought of it that way before.

When I Saw the Pic Of the Ashen Grey ZL1 I went ape s**t! Very sexy color and makes it look more expensive/exotic in a way...hope it looks the same in person. Would have been great if they could have offered a lighter blue like Jetstream, Lemans or ABM/ Hugger Orange/ Sepang Bronze/ PoloGreen/SGM etc. So Who knows if the interior thread/seaming will match the paint you choose?

Yeah, a whole lot like that. That just takes me to my happy place.

...and I just realized a moment ago, still thinking about it while busy with other things, that we have also been talking about exactly the color of eye shadow that Susan Mott wore when I was in High School. She was my first huge crush.

I was more than a little shocked when I realized it.

As Mr Spock would say...

some of you may recognize that Silver SS/RS and the 'lake' -

It was the last evening of Camaro5Fest at Chandler - most people were long gone and most of the vendors had packed up -

I jumped into the convertible to drive down to the 'rest facilities' - and when I came out, the color of the sky with the moon aglow was just mesmerizing.......

I realized I had about 60 seconds to try and capture a photo -(with my blackberry!)......

I only wish I had a camera -- scratch that - I wish I had someone following me around with a camera.... -- because the picture simply does not reflect accurately how magnificently God had painted the sky that evening.....and I took the picture purposely with the Camaro to the left of the picture - thinking that the right side would allow me to add a script.......

(still haven't gotten around to doing that....)

The sky reminded me of a color we offered wayyyyyyyyyyyyy back in 1965 --
......."Evening Orchid"...........a one year color..........
