Anybody know any dealerships in CA charging MSRP and having allocation? So far no luck. I drove 6 hrs to Modesto to get my ducati 1098 when it was released in '07...I wouldn't mind doing the same for the ZL1

I am one that "dont like" confrontation.. but I have those skills to deal with it when it arises.. You don't do tech support in a call center full of idiots for 15 years as acting supervisor and not learn a few of the "trade" so to speak? I can be a master at the "game" when dealing with customers/people/salesmen/managers/idiots too...dont matter to me..which.. so yea.. I know how it goes...

Htron, I could write a novel on my personal experience since January doing that very thing. In short, I did everything correctly, and then some! I was assured I was going to be number 1. They have an allocation. I am still in limbo as we speak. I placed all my time and energy in one location. Based on what I was told I had no reason to go elsewhere. I will see for sure within the next 48 hours. Cautiously optomistic at this point am I.

I HEAR YOU!
Hell, the dealer I was in contact with ever since the original Camaro came out, I kept an in person relationship with... waiting on a Z28. Then came the ZL1 announcement. I got on his list immediately.. he told me I was #3. (behind the owner and sales manager probably).
Monday just came and I got the dilly dally. "Sorry Bro, we only got two allocated and you were number 3. Plus, that's all we're getting for the year"... I made my list. Checked it twice. Started calling all dealers within a 200 mile radius Monday afternoon. At 4:30pm or so I was on the road to soak up one of four he said he had. And only 1 was spoken for. I was #2. So, we'll see if they end up getting me my order number this weekend. Geezzzzz... I really think the IN PERSON with the GenL mgr and New Car Sales Mgr on a slow Monday night worked. Crossing fingers. But I can tell you this... I had a decision to make Monday afternoon about getting in my car and riding two hours one way to "make it happen".. I called them back twice before I left confirming the "what ifs" etc... All I got was FIRM CONFIRMATION. So... now its about Promises Kept time. We'll see. |

My dealership has allocation and ZERO people on the list for "preorders". They sell all the preorder cars @ M.S.R.P with a $500 deposit.
They are about 75 miles outside of San Diego/LA/OC area. Usually top 3 in sales for the state and one of the highest volume Corvette dealers in the US. The gave away a ZR1 in the Onstar push to win promotion that was going on a month or so ago.
