ground effects only in black???

I was just pricing out the Camaro on the chevy site
http://www.chevrolet.com/allnewcamar...build-your-own
And when I select the ground effects package I only see it show up in black. (I had picked victory red for body)

Is that right, or will it also be painted in the color I choose?

if it's only available in black.
I might just skip it and buy a aftermarket one as I'll want to have it painted anyways
(or the other option of getting the whole car in black, lol )

EDIT: DARK ARGENT METALLIC

Yes its only in black

If they were in any other color they would have trouble getting the right color gfx for the right color camaro

I'm pretty sure it is available only in black right now, but I have been known to be wrong once or twice before in my life.

after see conflicting posts on here,
can anyone confirm if the ground effects are factory installed or dealer installed?
if it's dealer installed, I'll definitely pass on it

It's really not even a black but more of a dork grey.

I may have the dealer paint it. I ordered a black car so it can't be too hard to match.

Why is everyone against dealer installed options? A lot of the guys that work at the dealerships have been working on Chevy's longer than some people on this site have been alive...

Not sure anyone answered this, but the GFX are definitely only a dealer installed option. I wouldn't let that scare you away though. Just go talk with the dealer and find one that you think you can trust. I am sure they will do fine work.

I'll admit that I'm a skeptic for dealer work only because I haven't been happy with dealers in my area. I know there are great dealers out there, but I haven't found one by me. I used to work at one but I left. What it usually comes down to is $$$. Sometimes these guys will almost cut corners to meet their time quota; sometimes that usually ends in a bad installation and sometimes a good tech' can get it on there just right. It's just hard to trust in a person you don't know. I believe if these were a factory installed option an actual tech' would be doing it, so what's the difference?

The key is, as many have said, is to find a good dealer. I believe that's the best advise

So the ground effects aren't cool lights that run underneath your car? It almost looks like that in the pics with the blue lights on the picture. Of course they don't give you any information about what ground effects entail. If its just some crap on the bottom I don't think their worth it. Especially if they aren't color matched
