Help..When does Canada get on the map?

What the heck....does anyone with factory or GM Canada connections know what the heck is the hold up on Canadian allocations?...I'm pissed off. This is retarded.

We were a month behind when the 2010's first come out. I anticipate the same thing this time around. Also expect a delay on MSRP announcement for Canada.

Ya Canadian dealers seem lost when it comes to ZL1....Everything my dealer knows about it, is from me.I sent him the dealer reference guide.
Although he says I will get mine ,no worries.Im the only one that has put a deposit on one here. The manager said, its a sold car,GM will honor it.
Actually i don't mind the delay, dont want the car till weather is good! He also said sometimes Canadian cars, vary slightly from US.He mentioned something about the Sonic as an example. My salesman is very cool and seems very honorable.

You are going to buy a Shelby because you have to wait a month in winter in Canada, where you can't drive the car anyways?

My dealer knew all about it. He is ordering one for me, he will get allocation and it should be here end of March 2012. No different when I ordered my wifes 2011 SS Convertible. It was ordered in 11/2010, built in 01/2011 and arrived 3rd week of March. Nothing firm on pricing, but the guesswork is on the lot $55-60k Canadian.

My dealer has one possible allocation with my name on it. He's going to place the order Sat. For MSRP. I've got nothing down and can walk away if the pricing is to high once it's released.

HI Pappa Joe,
You shouldn't have any problems as remember for B.C. there is a 4-5 week transit time to get the vehicle out from Ontario.

Just got off the phone with my dealer...He told me US gets first allocations. Then Canada get so many allocations by province. He was talking to GM bigwig who talks to dealerships tells em about new cars etc. he more or less said if that dealership has a sold vehicle they will get one.
As far as any dealership claiming they have an allotment in Canada,he said its very strange(translation Bull) He said he can put in my order on the 29th.So GM can see they have a sold ZL!.Mind you he was saying low numbers like 5 per province or less! He told me to email him the options I want and he will send it to GM on the 29th. So there it is,I believe him cant see him feeding me crap info.

What, you absolutely positively need to have a 550+ hp RWD car in the middle of winter? I think you may be the only person in Canada in just such a situation.

This is pretty much the same info I recieved from a GM regional manager. US gets first kick at the can, then we will find out what is left over. My dealer has been on the ball with the ZL1 (since I told him about it in Feb) and he as had no indication of allocations to Canadian dealers as of yet. This isn't unusual for high demand vehicles.

Its not just that.....

1) if allocations for Canadian orders are set back a month there is no way you're getting a car for March. You would get it in March if you got in on the initial order, which won't happen if allocations are a month behind.

2) Yes I want one asap, winter is no big deal here. Its t-shirt weather right now, and all I gotta deal with is a little rain over the winter anyway.

3) The point is not that I can't wait, its that I'm angry for the second class treatment for Canadian buyers on the orders for no reason at all. We have to pay more for the damn things for no reason , then to add more insult we have to wait to order. The %@~*& factory is in Canada..Why can't there be a level playing field for customers. Its not like we live in Russia and there is a shipping issue.

Its discrimination on both counts any way you look at it, its not fair, and it pisses me off. I put my deposit down back in August, and some dude who just read about it Friday can walk into a dealership in the US on Saturday and get a ZL1 before I do. Nothing against the US guy who is buying the car, but I think sales of such a car should be done on a level playing field.

Everybody up here gets all in a knot when its mentioned we will just head south for our GM vehicles, but Its GM themselves that force that decision. Yes I could head south and buy one, but if it comes to that I'm jumpin ship on principal, not that I don't like the car, but I'm not supporting the discrimination.
