ZL1 ....Daily Driver?

Just spoke to my buddy who is lucky enough to own a 2011 ZR1....He told me that that ZR1 is not a great daily driver car and he doesn't expect the ZL1 to be either....He instead drives his 911 s as a daily driver....

Just curious what people are planning w the ZL1...

For me ....

09 Escalade for cold months/kids/shitty weather
12 ZL1 for all warm days as a daily driver...

Will

i don't see any reason why it could not be a daily driver.

This is my feeling as well. As long as the weather permits and you feel comfortable driving it, go for it!!!

Really Really expensive summer only tires with hardly any tread on them is one reason.

If you keep it in the garage all it's life all you are doing is keeping it in pristine shape for the next guy who owns it. It's a car, drive the damn thing.

If you are worried about "really, really expensive summer only tires" you shouldn't be buying a $60k sports car.

I agree that cars are made to be driven, but "daily driver" means just that.

"Daily" being rain, sleet, snow or sun....summer and winter.

I doubt many will actually be "daily drivers".

It will basically daily drive the same as any 5th gen camaro except it will be a lot more fun! Maintenance will be higher (tires, oil changes, etc.), but other than that I don't see any issues. MRS was developed for this reason. Drive it to work M-F, to the track on the weekends & enjoy!

If I get one it will be my daily. it does hurt the resale a bit on these special edition cars but I am hoping to pay cash so I don't care as much about resale as if I was finacing it.
