Accident...Body Work and Now No DRL's!

Okay, here is a pic of just one reason why 15 1/2 year old's shouldn't drive. Yep, I was out minding my own business, in my lane and this young girl...on her 1st day out mind you, does this to me. $5,500 later and her mother still claims it was MY fault...lol...I got the car back from the body shop and my DRL's are not working....At all! Nothing will turn them on....that I know of. I know that some of you've been all up under that bumper cover and was wondering if I can get to it without take a bunch of stuff off...and what exactly would I be looking for? I would take it back to the shop but he's closed up for some show in Las Vegas this week. Just wondering if anyone could help. Thanks!

looks like you had just cosmetic damage to the front fascia. Hmm $5500 ? you got ripped off. Well if the insurance is paying, erm why not.

Ok, Just looks like the fog lights aren't working. Check bulbs wiring harness and fuses. All you need to do is remove 3 torx T20 screws on the liner (in front of the wheels). You will then be able to get to the lights.

The main plug in is through the right side (passenger) wheel well. Big square gray plug. Check that one. It is hard to plug back in and may have juggled loose.

Good luck

Exactly what I was gonna say. Let me guess, the marker lights on the sides don't come on either? I did the same thing when I put my bumper cover on, it didn't plug in fully and a day or two later, no lights. You can reach under the bumper just in front of the pasenger tire and access the plug.

should be an easy fix...you can easily get under the front end if you have some rhino ramps. like pontiacfanatic66 said, the plug is on the passenger side. if its disconnected, which i bet it is...then its an easy fix. i'll get some pics for you...gotta get some coffee first.

If they were working prior to the accident, take it to the place that fixed it. This is not a GM warranty issue ... this is a repair warranty issue. If you start trying to fix it yourself, that would void your repair warranty... take it back and have them complete the job.

only problem with that is his side markers won't blink until he can get it back in the shop which according to the OP won't be for another week. great excuse for another 15.5 yr told to run into him and get away with it. if its not an easy fix...then yes, take it back.

There were scratches on the wheel which was $600 to replace, plus the headlight assembly was broken and those HIDs are like $800 each and I don't know how much the front bumper cover costs but they replaced that and the whole left fender was replaced too. (notice buckle in the middle) All I had to pay was my $500 deductable, but it did seem high...then again, I live in the SF Bay Area where everything seems to be double.

Thanks for the tips and the pics too. that is s big help. Now, if I can get some time in the next couple of days, I'm gonna get on it and I'll let you know what's going on. Thanks again..you all are great.

Hey Guys, just wanted to post that I resolved the situation with the DRL's. I did pulled that panel under the right front wheel well and reached in to grab the lamp plug and even though it felt like it was in place, I removed it and snapped it back in, and that did the trick.

I'd tell you all again just how awesome you are, but the more we do it, the bigger your heads will get. Then you'd all have to do door mods to get those huge melons into your rides. Thanks again, so much!
