I can see that for sure, especially with the GG tax and a high sales tax like I have to contend with (10+%).

Before all these crazy rumors of a high MSRP, I had been budgeting for $60k out the door. That's the number I'm still shooting for. Anything less, great. Anything more (within reason), I'll deal with it.

Price is my only concern at this point. Just a few more weeks and we'll know for sure. I may have to wait till the '13 model year after my tax returns come to see if its gonna happen.

^55k msrp will be my limit. 60k will knock me out of the running. I will be stretched all kind of ways even at 50-55k msrp.

OK, if we figure a 2ss at $35,450, then the 40% markup would bring the ZL1 price at $49,630.

I'd believe that figure for a base price of a ZL1.

Keep in mind that marketing wize, that can't price it that far from a GT500.

Whoever this person is, I would like their name and telephone number.

They are wrong.

Please - everyone - the price will be announced before the end of the year.

I will be amazed if this happens. Here is my logic on this one you have an American muscle car icon with heritage that plain out whoops the caddy in performance. Yeah I know it's not as luxurious, but this car doesn't share much with the caddy besides the brakes and LSA which has recieved an hp bump and eps. I'm not saying your price idea is not right... But I look at the cars it can be compared with performance wise and think anyone would be jumping at the chance to have anyone of the cars it is comparable to on the nürbürgring. With a car that can run circles around Porsche, Mercedes, and BMWs top dog and numerous others that are in excess of three times the money. Can you honestly say that you would be disappointed if the car is more than its direct competitor the GT500? I've come to learn that If you want to play with the big boys it comes with a premium attached.

The Zl1 is not a CTS-V and will handily out perform one. Plus the Caddy doesn't have the background or roots of the Camaro in my opinion. What badass Caddy was there in the heyday? I get what you are saying about caddy being the premium brand of GM. But you would have never guessed that in 97 when the LS1 hit the scene that Caddillac would be making a performance sedan. Plus with the Camaro having a vert option something the CTS-V will never get. I look at the ZL1 this way we finally have a Camaro that is in a league of super cars and I for one am willing to accept the fact that it will come with a price tag.
