Hey Mole

Any clue on how long a Camaro fresh off the line stays on site before it's shipped to the dealer??

Hey Mole/Camaro Insider - do you mind if I field this one it seems there is only 441 users online right now - guess it's 'cuz it's Good Friday...

Once the car is signed off (meaning that every dept. has certified it as being perfect) it is shipped right away. This can be either rail or transport. These guys work 24/7 loading cars and pickups - I know `cuz I`ve watched them and wondered how they can drive a car BACKWARDS onto the 2nd level of a transport in the middle of the night. Truly something to see...

This is sounds like it came straight out GM's legal/PR department and it probably did? As nice as the Mole & Insider seem to be, what would be great is a to have a "Real Mole" or "Insider" that doesn't have to get their answers to questions pre-approved by GM's legal department.

My guess is it's letter E.

This is based on the fact that the VIN spreadsheet only lists 1 car produced for my dealership, but I spoke with them yesterday and they have 3 cars listed. This means the spreadsheet must be at least a couple thousand VINs behind.

Please see my thread reply " Minor insider info for what its worth " # 59. We can't and won't release info. When non factual info is released here , it makes us all look bad. I'm sure your employer would be a tad pissed if any of his/her's workers released private company info. Them's the facts my friends !

HEY can we cut these guys a break! STOP pushing for info that could cost their jobs. Forget your calculations, do you want to wind up with less people working to get your cars built? I didn't think so.

Yeah but what's the time frame between the car exiting the plant on its way out to the big-ass parking lot, and shipping out?

Please don't take offense. I really like hearing from you and the other GM employees on the line and eslewhere. I've been in upper management of a large company for going on 20 years and I know how overly paranoid corporate legal can be about just about everything. We call our legal department "the Sales Prevention department" because they are so overly anal they drive down sales.
What makes GM look bad, is what is classified "private company info". I'm guessing that info equals about 99% of what people want to know about their cars status and production details. That's not your fault, it's YOUR "Sales Prevention Departments" fault. Again, I think you guy's are great, but GM policies....not so much.
