No kidding, I even suggested my dealer spend some time on the site since it seemed to me that I had better infor then he...don't get me wrong he was great and they have bent over backward for me, they have been great but it is nice to have a place to go to get the scoop before the dealers!

^ Yes. Our information is way ahead of the dealers curve. No 'dis to them, they are busy selling cars. It's just our system is more ahead in real time because we can dedicate all our time to one model!

Unfortunately the "west coast" dealers just conspired in Vegas "so they are all on the same page" to add a $5k markup on all ZL1's. I'm a multiple repeat customer at my dealership and was able to get that dropped. I guess having ordered my '10 so early and sending them a ton of business has its perks.

I should have thought of checking this site while I was placing my order today. What was I thinking.

Nor-Cal Dealers - The ZL1 Dirty Dozen

Joe, as a matter of fact I had no trouble finding two dealers selling at MSRP. And I only contacted two!

Hi Guys & Gals,

Oldscool - I've had the complete opposite experience...

GREAT site, very informative, txs 2 everyone for their collective contributions making for a GREAT repository. I sure could use help/pointer to a "good" dealer that doesn't want to squeeze me blind. I've spoken to at least a doz dealers in Northern CA. All that have allocation, holding out and asking above MSRP the highest being $20k over. Drop me a line if you want the list so you can steer clear for the short or long-term or I can post if that's appropriate? My dealer (97 Tahoe, 10 2SS, a brand new 69 spec ZL1 motor looking for just the right project, just sold and on it's way to Le Mans a 69 ZL1 Vette tribute (yel. version) and some old C2 iron) has sold his local dealerships and I refuse to pay the prices the Nor-Cal Dealers are holding me up for. If I strike out they sure won't see any $ for a 2013 from me. I'll keep calling till I find a dealer who wants to establish a long-term relationship with an enthusiast as myself.

Now I know the margins for dealers on the Camaro's have been slim and it has been a rough few years but I have to believe margins on ZL1 @ MSRP are fatter and not such a "raw" deal. It seems a bird in the hand and dealer would do better with me as a new, long-term customer buying a new ZL1 at MSRP and other goodies to be named later rather then squeeze me for 5 -20k (not) never hearing from me again.

Thanks in advance for any dealer ( Hi Becky the guy in CA left u Vmail a few nights back) or member out there who can help me lay claim to a 2012 ZL1 or point me in the right direction.

Best,

J - 408-482-2400c pst

This is the site to surf concerning anything to do
about the camaro gen 5's. I look forward to next
year and seeing all our members posting pics of
there ZL1's. Then the fun really begins when we start
to see people start to customize there cars. Can't wait
for next year to get here, and to meet some of you at
the camaro Fest 3.
