Has anyone dove a Nissan 370Z Nismo?

My buddy and his wife came down last night and stayed over and he bought a new Nissan 370Z Nismo. It rides stiff as hell but I promise you it will out do my SS in the twisties, It has 3.7 V6 that is rated at 350HP but the car only weighs in at like 3200 (I Think). I beleive they run stock about a 13.0 Quarter but could be wrong. I would not want one but I was impessed with the handling and performance of that V6.

Have not driven the 370 Nismo though a friend I work with has a new one. We work for an "alphabet agency" and have a great private road to exercise our motors within reason. I obliterate him on the straights...but as we come to any tight turns he simply laughs his way past me on the OUTSIDE of the turn...its practically glued to the road. Nothing bad to say about its performance, its a tight car and not terrible to look at.

My old man's got a 2010 370 Nismo. Closer to 3300 lbs I think. He tried to talk me into one of those instead of the Camaro but we can see the end of that story.

I test drove a 370Z before I bought the SS. It was nice, but I liked the STI I drove better. The 370 was light, and handled better than the SS, but it was such a stiff ride. Plus there are no back seats. I think there is more storage space on a Corvette.

I'm adding a full coilover suspension/sways ect to fix that "problem" in the twisties.

Storage on that car is definitely a bare minimum.

I test drove some 370s as well as 350s before getting a Camaro. I love the Z, but ended up with the Camaro. The Camaro was in my price range as the Z was not.

Would like to own one someday though-- it's a beautiful car and it really does handle well!

I drove a used one that I was looking at for my wife and I was pretty impressed with how it handled. The power was not too bad either for the type car. If you were into road racing it would be a great platform to start with.

We ended up getting a Mini Cooper S "Because it is cute"

The Cooper S isn't really a bad car for autox and road racing either. There are quite a few of them in Cinci that run autox.

My mom bought a mini back in 03. She also thinks it's cute.

I will say that the Mini is a great car. I'm 6'5" around 240lbs and fit in the car pretty comfortable. We have the turbo version and the power is right on for what the car weighs. We live in WA and love driving it through the twisty mountain roads and it stills gets close to 40mpg combined driving.

I've yet to see a Nismo 370z run 13.0 in magazine testing. Yet, that's a common time for the Camaro SS. Based on everything I've seen and read, the Nismo doesn't run any faster than the standard 370Z down the 1/4 mile. Several mags even ran slower in the Nismo.

But here's the fast list for 370z from a popular site.

Low 13s will get you in the top #3.
