It handles very well, but it's a terrible value at $41k. Might as well get a Boss 302 or a 2SS with plenty of money left over on bolt-ons.

Was looking at 370s hard (got a 2ss though). Check out a "base" with the sport package. You get the monster brakes, the bigger wheels, some ground effects stuff I think, it's all the "performance" stuff that you'd want. Then save up and get an exhaust and tune and I'm sure you'd be at NISMO HP, if not better. This was my plan, but I wanted to be able to take more than a small duffel bag with me. The 370 only beat the camaro around the top gear track by .4 of a second (both at 1:27.something), enough to make me think it's a driver's game and the camaro suspension/steering/cornering aint bad, although the lighter more agile 370 obviously wins in a turn. I think these times indicate serious performance, whether it's from acceleration/braking or from road grip, but you at least need some of both to get this high IMO.

Forget the NISMO IMO though, just get the 370 with sport package. A few options if you care. There's lots of dumb things you can add on the nissan site to make it "look" nismo, but I'd advise against this (unless you want to pay more than it's worth by financing all these extras). The 370Z is a damn fine car by itself and it's got some great performance.

BTW, I see "RICE" as Race-Inspired Cosmetic Enhancements, aka RICE. Don't mistake tuning/tuning cars for "rice", there's a difference. My WRX got some serious gains with downpipe, intercooler, intake, full exhaust, way more than you'd ever get out of a NA engine by making similer changes. Spotting the rice is easy though...

LOL...it's funny to see people react to me getting out of it sometimes. It looks real small but it's very comfortable because of the head room in it. Plus the thing handles like it's on rails.

With all that said....I love my SS way more than the Cooper or 370Z!

i think in the end the SS would actually be dominant on a twisty track. the 370z has a HORRIBLE issue with brake fade even after they added the "sport pad" option.

I've heard that many times, any idea why? Brakes are mechanically very simple and brakes on one car are very similer to brakes on another. Unless there's an issue with the type of fluid used or the pads (easily fixable), it just doesn't make sense that they are really that bad. I deal with a variety of disc brake systems both at work and for recreation. They all bleed relatively the same and the biggest differences are usually pad composition and rotor size, not "brake A is way better than brake B" for some mysterious reason.

Maybe I'm wrong...

it's not the fluid or pad. I heard the issue is in the design of the car. there isn't enough airflow to the rotors because nissan went for the least air resistance possible. the entire issue could almost entirely disappear with a brake duct kit. i suspect if it was that easy nissan would have done that though.
