I have the Transformers edition. The stripes are 'carbon-like'
It is very cool though, the dark black part in your pic is actually just flat black.
And the lighter color does look like carbon fiber. I should also note though, that the transformers edition has more than the stripes. The plastic molding inside is like a graphite. And at the top of the molds on the door is ambient ice-blue lighting. It includes the RS package (except keeps the SS badging if you have the SS). The stitching in the leather seats is yellow. Also, you get a custom headrest with auto bot logo and center console with the logo too. You also get the door sill Transformers logo. The 20" painted rims and large spoiler are also pretty cool.

B. in that prices defense.... has anyone SEEN the 2012 TF3 edition in person? the stripe package is VERY unique. looks like black with carbon fiber inlays all pressed into 1 vinyl stripe.... when i spoke to one of the designers (Adam Berry i think is is name) he stated the process for making the stripe is unique to GM and nobody could reproduce it... so... if this is actually the GM official stripe kit.... i do understand the price.

I like the way the exterior of the TF edition looks. However, I would never drive one because to many people would call it bumblebee or associate me with the movie. I bet you would see a parking lot full of these at comic-con.
