With the Fords it was a lot easier. They had superchargers on the Cobras and the Shelby GT500 It was just a matter of replacing the supercharger.

With our SS cars they are not configured for a supercharger.

I get to play with many parts outside of GMPP that compliment the car and the parts that GM Performance Parts sells.

In the short term I think that the aftermarket will have kits available fro the Camaro.

Anything is possible.....

Aahahahaha, now that would be bit much for a street driven Camaro.


I would say that you would see decent benifits using the LSX block once you get over 700 to 800 horsepower.

Still the other blocks are OK in limited spurts.

Although a while back I saw on Horse Power TV a Hemi set up in a dyno, it had the Holey carbs and intake manifold etc... produced 800+ HP, they changed out the Holey with Edellbrock Carbs and intake manifold... over 1000HP!!... I don't think that was with Nitrous either...

Does anyone know what block they use for NASCAR? don't those produce around 800HP? granted they are no where near smog legal!

They are based on the 1960's (possibly 1950's) era Chevy small blocks. They are cast iron, carburated, cam in block with displacement is limited to 358 cubic inches. Power output is estimated to be 850 hp (teams don't release the information), at about 9500 rpm. They rarely last more than 700 miles before needing a rebuild.

Ahh thanks for answering. I know top fuel drags go just over a quarter mile before they rebuild them...

BTW ~850 with 358c.i.!! awesome!!
