Hibernation Time

After enjoying my car 75% of the time I've owned it since 8/4 (the other 25% it was at the dealer having issues somewhat resolved) it is time to put the beast away for the winter. 3344 miles on the clock in the less than 3 months of ownership. Averaged 16.7 mpg. Had one top replaced, the second one needs to be replaced, 1 window regulator replaced, the other still waiting on parts since 10/13 along with the rear window trim. One seat bottom replaced also. Water seepage into rear floorboards. Think that's about it for now. When I did get to drive it the Permagrin was always on my face. This car turns heads that is for sure. I hope the fix is in come May when I get it out of storage or I get a new car. To all that can drive your cars year round I am jealous. At least today I got that one last drive with the top down in our 58 degree sunshine in Minnesota today. To all of you still experiencing top problems, I feel your pain x2.
Have a most wonderful day. Now the permafrown starts until May, 2012

Hope all your issues get resolved this winter. I realize you had some bad issues with your car.

Luckily, I have not had the problems you have experienced.
I do have a couple of faint rub marks on the roof as well as some wind noise at 60 mph+ seems to be coming from back window area.Knock on wood, no leaks.
I will be putting mine into storage probably in the next couple of weeks. If no S*-W, and no salt on road, I'll keep driving.but as soon as things change it gets stored.
I agree 95birdible,permafrown to go along with the permafrost.
I will be crying soon until spring.

For those contemplating coupes,

Driving a coupe........okay
Driving a convertible..............PRICELESS!!!!!

I forgot one fix and that was the cup that holds the top handle.
Just got off the phone with my Chevy case worker. My car is now in the hands of the bean counters to either buy it back or try to fix it. What complicates the fix is the time of year here in Minnesota. They want to try and fix the issues now but being the window regulator is on backorder and has been since 10/13, I need another new top, and it now leaks. They want to fix the regulator, get the water leak really documented and fixed, the new top they said can wait. If I would still be waiting on parts that would of been 20 days so far at the dealer for the one thing. I am well over the 30 days in the shop for the fixes. I will find out by the end of the week if I do in fact get a buyback. If not, looks like I may have to go the Lemon Law route if push comes to shove. The dealer and Chevy have been very accommodating and customer service has been above normal. For them I commend them for that. Now quality is something that is leaving a bad taste in my mouth with this car. Not the powertrain though. Updates to follow when I know more.

Have fun Coog. Just watch out for the dreaded rub marks, window regulators, and leaks.

I have to put mine away soon, I have one more car show this weekend at Fort Campbell to honor Veterans. I have just under 6000 miles, and I will miss her terribly during the winter. I haven't had any issues, I keep looking for rub marks but don't have any.

Goodnight!

Sleep tight! Can't wait to see the streets again. Might get one or two more drives in if I'm lucky.

My car has been at the dealer three weeks yesterday. They are replacing the rear passenger window regulator & motor. Fixing or replacing the handle on the drivers seat that allows entrance to the back seat. Repairing the GFX that was never put on correctly and replacing the drivers and passengers aftermarket leather seats that were not installed properly either. I keep hearing there is nothing wrong with my "TOP" but if something does, I have a dealership that will always go the extra mile with me. It killed me yesterday not to have the car with the above 70 weather and probably the last time until April/May. Have the cover ready to also hibernate the car. Mods being ordered for the wake up call in the spring

If you plan on storing for the entire winter...then stabil is a must
If you plan on driving part of the winter.. then stabil is ?
Check with your dealer and see what their service department suggests.

Don't have my car yet so putting it way for winter is the last thing on my mind. But the last week has been topdown beautiful, and I find myself saying only if. . .
