Hmmmm. Cyberbro, when and how did you find out you are at 3000?

I was 14 and last I checked, I'm at 1100...

You're probably still getting hosed with Cyber Grey

There is only a 15% availability nationwide so it's hit and miss which dealer can actually get them.

I am at 3000 so I called GM, they said I had a TPW of 5-4.

I'm new at this... correct me if I am wrong but can't the dealer simply order more from the factory if they run out of 'allocation'?

You all seem to think they can't. Can someone tell me why? GM may be in sad shape but they can certainly still pump out cars at an alarming speed.

They can order as many as they like, but they won't necessarily get them. GM allocates a certain number of cars to each dealer based on how many they believe they will able to produce within a certain period of time. If a dealer wants more than they were allocated, they may be able to pick up some that another dealer failed to order, or will be forced to wait for the next allocation cycle. In this case... after October.

Okay, so GM only wants to make LARGE shipments at infrequent intervals? Wow. I would think GM would just get the cars on the showroom floors ASAP to sell them before people become discouraged and buy a mustang gt or a challenger r/t - or even an import.

You may be right. I would have thought he would call me when my number was up to let me know and double check with me, but then again I also told him recently that I would not be making any changes on my order, so I'm gonna give him the benefit of the doubt...

We shall see, I'm gonna call later today to get an update. I'm not too worried about it...... yet!

It appears 9 of those that have ordered from Basil are represented here. Maybe we should get together and ask Steve or his Inventory Manager to post an update for all our cars say on every Tuesday and Thursday near the end of the day. This would decrease their calls and satisfy our craving for information. I am sure we can get a list together of the information he needs and agree on the information we want. Your thoughts?
