The X pipe is just another version of a crossover. It makes a different sound though. I've seen Ted post numerous times that a X pipe doesn't make anymore HP than H pipe. It's just that you NEED a crossover in the system and in the OEM location. For the L99 guys, you replace the heavy ass resonator section with a MUCH lighter X pipe section.

So weight reduction is the only performance gained. Does anyone know what the weight drop of difference is? Aren't most x pipes around $250?

Mine was $199 installed. As for performance gain, I'm not sure how good the resonator on L99 is. It could be more restrictive or even not scavenge as well as a true xpipe.

Wow, that's seems like a heavy X pipe. I know the Magnaflow true X weighs next to nothing. The added pipe to fit the length can't be more than a couple pounds.

I paid $150 installed for my X.

I just put in a X-Pipe the muffler shop had. It was the same size as the piping on the car. 100.00 installed.

That exhaust note was from just adding an X-pipe to the factory exhaust? Its a lot louder than my GMPP exhaust system. Has a lower tone too. I may add an X-pipe to my GMPP set up.

Not entirely, I also have high flow cats and that is a huge part of the sound. However, with the stock resonator on there it was quieter than it is now and did not sound as mean.
