You could piece together a kit but you have to have the knowledge to do it right...

FWIW, an SS is a $4700 up grade to an equally equipped LT and you get 114 more hp, 140 ft-lbs, brembo brakes, better suspension, better gearing, better tranny... oh and a tuneable computer if your talking 10/11 LT...

People spending over $5,000 to get close to the hp of the SS but not the tq or other stuff are just throwing money in the toilet. No matter how many times the rational is brought up, it always turns to the SS owner being an a$$.... no, it's just dollars and sense.

Tpr has a 5500 dollar kit that i could get out the door with instalation for 7100, theyve dynoed the same kit and gotten 650 out of it. There turbo v6s are roasting the stock ss's

650 unless you're talking horsepower PLUS torque.

"roasting" stock SS

Show me either in person and I believe it, untill then, don't believe everything you see on the web. There was a company going around saying they got 100 rwhp increase with just CAI, headers and exhaust. When asked to produce a dyno sheet... it got very funny. Ever see a torque curve do a loop d-loop?

So you honestly think your STOCK V6 motor is going to put out double it's stock HP and live? What about your tranny, axles, and driveshaft? All the TT kits for the SS are capable of 800+whp but NO ONE is running that on a stock motor.

Even if you did get stock SS HP, you've now invested at least as much $$ as a SS would cost MINUS the reliabilty, resale value, and WARRANTY. As posted above, looking from purely a value standpoint, it doesn't make sense. If you just want a turbo V6 and don't care about any of the above, have at it.

Unless I'm mistaken they haven't figured out how to fix the fuel limitation in the direct injection V6 so until they do that those numbers are a pipe dream.

Do the math.

Cheap + Turbo = Catastrophic Failure

V6 + Turbo Money = SS + Full Warranty

Why make things so much more complicated than they have to be. If you want SS power, get the SS. Why go through spending just as much money (ultimately much more when stuff starts to fail), voiding your warranty, and significantly reducing the durability of your car just to break even on power at best?

As far as I know, they have not and now that the 12 has a different computer, they will likely give up on trying and the 10/11 guys will have to be happy with slightly modded 6ers and about 275 rwhp and 200 or so rwtq.
