So that means this week he used his tenth and final allocation. Damn you CGM! When is the next consensus?

I meant monthly consensus. They received 3 for March and 7 for April.

The "next" consensus is happening now. By the middle of next week we should know how many Basil's getting built in May...

On to the suggestion of Steve posting here: GREAT IDEA.

Now, of course, the bad news. This site (and many others) are blocked by their web server. I know because that first Saturday I went in I had my laptop sitting on the corner of Steve's bosses desk. I had no trouble locking into their WiFi but as I said, a whole bunch of stuff is prohibited. He'd have to do it from somewhere else, home?, or email someone the info to post it here. The potential problem is that "we" are not his only sales. I don't think he's going to be willing to post info on cars #10, #11, and #14 (for examples) that don't belong to any of us.

I don't want to be a downer but I just don't know exactly how much he is ready, willing, and able to post without getting in any trouble himself. I do hope he can post EVERYTHING being requested because it would sure make my life a lot easier around here.

Happy Easter everyone.

I have been in the same boat with Steve, I just hope it's not a sign of things to come. I'm flying in from LI and I have been feeling a very cold reception from Steve. If something is not as it should be you are going to see someone flip the F** out!

I just hope they are not collecting names to order cars and then have other plans for them when they come in or going to pull a fast one on pick up day with the price with someone that just got off a plane to pick up a car.

I hope it's just that he is busy but then you would think someone else would help out in the dealership.
I am familiar with Steve and can attest to his honesty and character. Maybe you caught him on a bad day.

Steve says that I do not qualify for GMS or GSU discounts, even though I work for a GMC Truck dealership. Does anyone have any information on this one way or the other? Seems to me I should qualify? Thanks!
Get the GM credit union discount. It is equilivalent to GSU.

That is a win/win scenario in anybody's book.
$500 over invoice? Do you know how much mark up is in this car? If you travel across the Country to get it any savings you may have had is washed out. You pay the tax for the address the car is registered. Also check all the fees. What is Doc fee in NY compared to your town? What are the dealer fees? I suggest you get all of this upfront. Don't forget to put a value on your time and efforts to get this done. In the end you might as well go with your local dealer at MSRP.

GM? the dealer? I can tell you for sure it is not the dealer.

Many dealerships do not have access to the internet at work. You may be asking him to work at home after his normal work day which sometimes ends at 9PM. The other side of that... for all the business he has garnered off this forum it may behoove him
to respond positively to your rtequest. Sorry didn't notice trm covered this.

RE: Taxes on out of state purchase: Get paper work on car and register it at your local DMV and take plates to Steve. He may be able to fax the appropriate paper work to your DMV unless they need original. Don't ask Steve if you live out of state. Ask your local DMV if it is possible to register with faxed documents and get that local fax number and give it to Steve. Know your states procedure. And know the appropriate phone numbers and fax for the office closest to you when you talk to Steve.

I think is some cases you might be right but a lot of these orders are from NY anyway just different parts of the state.

Hey Espo, Geno's or Pat's??

You are going to pay T/T & L where you live no matter what. So your point there makes no sense. As far as "having to travel" no one has to travel anywhere. Someone could save $2-3K paying $500 over invoice and then pay around $750 to get it transported to them, still saving at least $1250-2250.

And since you seem to be a dealer or salesman please set us straight on the markup if we are wrong. I would also like an honest answer for how many cars you have sold in the last say 3 months that were sold for MSRP or more. My guess is little to none.

We obviously found out that the markup between invoice and MSRP is not nearly as much as we all assumed it would be. It's not like a $4500 "gap" with a Corvette. As far as the 40-45k made, I was referring to Basil on the sale of all 31 vehicles.

p.s. I made the trek up to the "holding lot" and didn't see a single Camaro- not one. So... where did they go? I'm going to my inlaws for Easter and it just so happens they live 5 minutes from Basil. I'll be doing a little covert snooping very soon...
