Cancel insurance in NY? How do you get away with that one? Last time I did that I got a 90 day vacation from my job.

You can but you need to put plates in storage at DMV ,

Here in Syracuse New York for work from Detroit. Working @ the VA Hospital camera system. Anybody have some advice for me to enjoy the area for the next week. Maybe meet up for a Camaro5 beverage or 2? Wishing I had my ride here w/me, but only a work truck:(

I'm not in Syracuse either, but can give you some suggestions:

1) Syracuse University college sports - check schedule online

2) Syracuse Chiefs Hockey

3) Dinosaur Barbeque - Looks like a biker bar, but everyone is welcome and the food is great.

The Syracuse people will undoubtedly have more suggestions.

Dinosaur Barbeque sounds right up my alley for sure!! Definitely have to check that out. Hard to beat Red Wing hockey being from "HOCKEYTOWN" and all!! Would love to see a game @ the Carrier Dome though. Thanks for the suggestions!!

He is safe...NY hasent figured out how to tax non residents on the work they do here......

Quaker Steak and Lube is one of our usual hangouts near Syracuse...being a Camaro guy from Michigan you WILL like that place!

You can temporarily cancel liability and collision for sure and also comprehensive if you don't have a loan. Give DMV your plates and $1 and get the FV-21 form to give to your insurance. DMV will store your plates if they are custom, otherwise issue you new ones in the spring. I do this every winter. It's only about $50/month savings for me but at least the greedy bastard insurance company isn't getting it. Great seeing you Saturday, Vince

I also do this and I have a Loan. your Insurance provider has to write a letter to the Lean holder stating the car is in storage and plated have been surrendered. the Lean holder will allow a 6 month suspension.
