re-posts

I often read some members writing that a post is a re-post...and many time that is not said in a friendly attitude...

IMO this will always happen since there are new members almost daily and with thousand and thousand of posts the members don't have a chance to read them all from the past...

So I say let it be and new members will have a chance to read and see some previous post and images.

This site has some 40,000 or 50,000 members so it will re-happen again. Thanks.

That's so well put, it deserves re-posting!!!

Seriously, though....you have a great point. I've always been told, if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all. Instead of posting something negative, just skip over the thread.

I've been a moderator/admin on several large automotive boards and this comes up frequently. It's all a matter of etiquette both on the part of the "newb" and the "vets". The newb SHOULD do a search so he doesn't re-ask a common question, and the veterans SHOULD either ignore, answer, or point the newb in the right direction.

The internet seems to bring out the worst in many folks, but friction over someone trying to learn just isn't worth the stress. There will always be people who expect to be spoon fed and there's really no way to avoid them unless you make a specific "new owners" section and have the mods move every newbie question into it. That way, the folks that like to help out can check in and answer those questions and the folks who don't, never have to see 'em.

Do a search. You'll find that this topic has been posted to death.
(if the search function worked)

You're assuming the search function works properly here. So far I have yet to get it to work worth a flip.

vBulletin's search function takes some finesse, that's for sure. I haven't played with it too much on this site, but it is possible to get useful information out of it on most sites. It's understandable why so many people just give up and make a dupe post instead (and then get flamed for it).

oh boy, what did I start with post 4? I just wanted to know what the best CAI is for the SS and yes, would also like to know if installing a CAI will void my warranty. Also, how much would my insurance cost?
