The new limited slip, traction control, launch control, and taller 1st gear should help it get moving a lot better than the old ones. Will do 63mph in 1st gear now like the z06s so 0-60 should drop a ton.

Better yet, ping me and I will meet you there in my '11 GT500 SVT-PP and I will let you drive it for a few laps and compare it to your Camaro. Any road course going guy will tell you that stock, the fat 5th Gen Camaro is not fun. As a matter of fact, the new 5.0 leaves it in a road course. You gotta know, I own both cars and I have owned 49 cars to date and comparing the interior, the Camaros big plastic everywhere is not better than the Mustangs. In fact, most if not all testers graded the Mustang's interior better than the Camaros. But I respect your opinion. It is what floats your boat and that is what counts.
You are correct I do have wheels/tires/suspension on my Camaro. I notice you own both, so you've had much more time to compare the two. I was not in anyway refering to which does circles better, what I meant to refer to was the way you feel when you drive each. I feel like the Camaro wants me to be inside, where as the Mustang is just taking me from point A to B. On the otherhand, I completely disagree with you about the ability of the 5.0 (if your referring to the new one). My first time on the track last weekend there was a fellow there who had a '12 GT equally modded who has been on a track before was not able to keep pace with me, corners or straights. Again as stated this comes down to personal preference mostly and everyone will buy what they want. Fortunately for you, you have the ability to have both in your garage!

Dude...you can't drive a ZL1 just like you can't drive a 2013 GT500 yet. Both cars will be street available around the same time.

I guess you just skipped all the other information about it and decided to post.
Is priced more? Are you a Ford exec to know this already? Handling issues? Do you own a current one now? Traction issues, what car with over 550hp does not have traction issues when mashed to the floor? but it can be easily fixed in less than 1 hour.

at least there's evidence of how the zl1 performs to back my claim up.

The stang interior is nicer than the maro. What was Chevy thinking with the two big analog (knobs). lets talk about trunk space.... the stang's trunk is much larger.. THe maro is better looking from 20 ft.

Chevy has the trump card.

I guess we have to remember that the GT500 is the fastest car Ford makes. The Chevrolet guys have several that are faster than the ZL1, so in effect, regarless of how these two wonderfully powered cars will be, Chevy still holds the trump card. At the price of these two, a 2-3 year old used Z06 with new cup tires is looking more and more like a bargain....no one sits in the back seats of either a Mustang or a Camaro...at least not for very long.

They are both great cars and I'm just glad to see that the Camaro is making Ford make a better Mustang and visa versa. We all win.

Now, before today, most of us screamed daily: ZL1 is King! Crusher of the GT500! Now, some of us have retreated to "GT500 is still gonna have traction issues" like you know if the ZL1 doesn't have traction issues with its 580hp. Shoot, I have major traction issues with my supercharged SS! The other 1/3 is now saying, "well, the ZL1 is going to be a better all around car." Crap, a BMW 3 series is a better all around car and you bought a Camaro anyway! What is the point? The best is not always the best overall but if you talk like a car guy, then you should know that performance is what matters...not the cushiony seat or how well it rides on the freeway, yada yada. The other 1/3 is now saying..well, the ZL1 still looks better. STFU already. Just tip your hat to Ford and the new GT500 and stop being a cry baby. If you are a car person, you won't have all these insecurities but rather you should be happy that the selection keeps getting better.
I'll be happy to help you get your SC'd SS under control or your ZL1 or your Mustang

I own a 2012 Camaro SS, and to date I haven't owned anyone. I plan on doing some limited track racing next year, but with the cost of track racing and the chance of crashing, I will be limited in the time and how hard I push my car.

As for on the street, I cannot afford a racing ticket nor the beating my wife would give me if I got one.....

so, I guess that I am owned by any 4 banger ricer that is willing to break the law and try to race me on the street....

so be it. I love my car and it puts a smile on my face. I drove a 2011 mustang GT with the new motor, and while I liked that car, it didn't do for me what my SS Camaro does.....so I bought the Camaro.

If the ZL1 makes you feel that same way, then you should buy one.

If the SS makes you feel that same way, then buy it.

If you need to have the car that boasts the most HP, then buy the GT500 when it comes out.... __________________
