I completely understand that and the gt would be absolutly disgusting and im sure alot of owners will go that route.

I think the 2013 650hp is under rated. De-tuned for longevity maybe. You can get a TVS kit for the 07-12 GT500 that's rated for 660hp. Owners who swapped are putting down over 600RWHP. VMP makes a kit with a slightly smaller pulley. It puts down about 650RWHP.

I'd like to find out some more info on the rods they are using. The pics dont look different but it can rev up to 7000rpms.

I don't think there is much reason to underrate these days, especially in this "mine is bigger than yours" horsepower war.

The circumstances that led to underrating back in the 60s, don't really exist today. Insurance won't outright deny you coverage based on hp like they did back then. There aren't any mainstream factory stock racing rules that limit cubic inches and output, or any gentlemen's agreements that "limited" out put to 10lbs/hp.

Plus after slamming the auto world with 650 hp, do you really think Ford wanted to show any mercy to anyone by underrating?

I actually welcome this honest and open SAE certification we have now.
