Can Camaro Single-handedly Save GM?

I've done some thinking. Can one car save a brand? Yes, but can it save a company? I'm not going to go into all the usual boring details and facts that I come up with. It's time to let positive people speak. I see camaro hitting the streets before that June deadline and then people seeing them and saying, "was that what I think that was?" For those of us on this site, all we know is Camaro. Be aware, there are some people who don't know about what a Camaro is much less that that car in the Transformers is a Chevy, maybe even don't have a computer. If Camaro surpasses our expectation as far as it has lately, and if it does that same in quality, it will make people ask, "what else do you sell? Really, I didn't know that."

I love that new "America needs a Comeback" concept. GM has to apeal to Ameicans with a Buy American Campaign. I think it will work. What do you think? On the heels of Easter, is there another type of resurection comming?

Not even close projection for production is 100k a year doesn't mean they will sell those after year one. GM needs a hell of a lot more

I don't think the Camaro can, but it could be the spark that starts the momentum that will!

They need to make all the right moves and not drop the ball.

No think about it how many people want one? yeah here we all do but thats why its camaro forums. But if you go out there and ask I bet you maybe one 1 20 would get a camaro, and even then probably even 1 in 100 acutallly can afford one.

The new Camaro may attract buyers back to GM, and after experiencing the car, may look at other products that are in the catalog for other transportation needs. We have a post in today's posts about a person going from Lexus to a new Camaro...and if that person's experiences are good, then they will more than likely convert a few friends, and THAT is how the ball gets rolling towards saving GM. Word of mouth about a positive experience with a GM product. I have sold three new GMT-900's and four Enclaves to people I know just by taking them for rides and drives in my Tahoe and our Buick Enclave.

Ideal line up for Chevrolet is not too far away...

replace Aveo with spark
replace cobalt with cruze
replace HHR with Orlando
redesign Impala (NOW!!!!)

Camaro
Corvette (I'd love a new body style for the centennial coming up...)
Malibu
Traverse

Tahoe
Suburban
Silverado
Avalanche- All four of these will get a half life revamp soon if not a completely new body style

Colorado needs to get axed and replaced with an all-new S10...

I believe the Camaro is just the shot in the arm that Chevrolet needs to get people interested again

New Impala, the Cruze, something better than the Aveo. All of these would be better suited to help GM. Mass market appeal is the key to success.

The Malibu was a great start. Just need to sustain the innovation and quality improvements.

The Camaro will do okay, just not the do all end all to save the company.
