Not only do you see more but they look good (quality and style) when you do.

yeah. you have to admit... theyve NAILED good design nicely.
i love it.
the CAMARO is the GIANT APEX of this new design triumph.

line up vastly different cars from the GM portfolio =
NEW MALIBU
NEW TRAVERSE
NEW CTS
CAMARO
NEW ENCLAVE

all different categories...
AND yet all with that sleek, kinda mean, CONFIDENT, FRONT END stance achieved by successful design.

and the quality to back it up.

keep it comin!

What the Camaro does is add to the portfolio one can "name drop" when you talk to die-hard import lovers. Those that are close minded to American cars in general can now be told about the CTS, Malibu, Camaro, Corvette, Traverse, Enclave, G8, etc. GM has been revamping its lineup for years to compete with, and in many cases surpass its European and Asian competitors. The Camaro just adds another great product to an impressive lineup. People just need to start realizing not all stereotypes about American cars are true...

Edit: yeah, what vm said above ^

Word of mouth about a positive experience with a GM product. I have sold three new GMT-900's and four Enclaves to people I know just by taking them for rides and drives in my Tahoe and our Buick Enclave.
My wife has an Enclave...and between that and my Avalanche, I have so many people complimenting the car. The Enclave is a NICE vehicle. Sure, it's a Buick...and that name is synonymous with "old people" but my wife is 32. She's not exactly old.

My dad's a Ford guy and wants my Avalanche (so he'll get it when the Camaro comes in). This is someone that would NEVER buy a Chevy. My aunt (who only drove Nissans and Toyotas her whole life) just pulled up on Easter Sunday in a new Enclave because she loved my wife's so much.

GM just needs to pluck the weeds that are bringing down the company. Hummer, Saab, and (dare I say it) Pontiac need to go. (I still say the failure of the G8 sales was due to lack of marketing and lack of an All Wheel Drive system). I was shocked to hear that Saturn was going too...but if it needs to go...it needs to go.

Look at the 2010 LaCrosse. I'm trying to talk my sister into getting that (She currently wants a Subaru Legacy). She had never seen the new LaCrosse so I showed it to her yesterday and she wants to test drive one.

Will the Camaro single-handedly turn around the company? It depends on how you mean. No, the sales of the Camaro will not save GM. Will the Camaro be the start of the upswing? There's a very good chance of that.

The Camaro no but it can start a turn around for GM all it takes is one product to turn anything around. If the Camaro can catch people and bring them back to GM maybe they will see that the other Products are well worth buying.

NICE, man! NICE!
i love a good 'ol GM family!
hell - i sat in all the caddys and buicks at the philly auto show... totally nice,
beyond nice! ASIDE from being partial.... i honestly gave it ALL a shot... and found an $89,000 mercedes (at the same show) to be clumsy in interior design compared to the GM stuff. im dead serious. i wasnt impressed. i wanted to fart in the car, just to say i did... but i was done passing gas.

seriously!!!

I agree with everything you said, but I wanted to touch on this point a bit. As some of Camaro5 knows by now, my dad is an "exec" at GM, and has been there for a while (just got his 25 years of service gift!) We were talking about bankruptcy, and the death of some brands, and he said the biggest regret he has in his career at GM is how Saturn was handled. Saturn is different than other car companies, it is unique in so many ways, and if it was marketed correctly, it could have been thriving in this economy. But for a long time it was sort of GM's "black sheep", which translated into a poor opinion of quality and value in the eyes of the public. Since the other GM brands were prospering, why put effort into selling a "budget" brand? This is where he feels they really failed the employees and customers of Saturn. He tells me stories about the passion Saturn engineers had for their vehicles, and the level of customer service the dealers had that is unmatched today. I really think Saturn was poised to be the next great American brand, but instead it has to go the way of the dodo because of a little shortsightedness.

And of course, all the brands that are dying are tragic. But in all reality, while Hummer is a great vehicle and it does what they intended it to (he reminded me ALL Hummer models are required to have the ability to scale a 16" vertical wall, which they stuck to), it is simply not what will sell in this economy.

I am assured chapter 11 will be swift, and I hope GM can shed its debt and other things weighing it down. We know they have the product linup to be extremely successful (10 years ago would you have EVER heard of a lexus driver switching to a Chevy?), they just need to instill a little confidence in the market, and nail the marketing. Can it be done? Absolutely. And finally, I think GM has the key to their own destiny.
