Sounds like your fiance is the man in the relationship. And you take advice from a random lawyer, why do you think he knows what the hell he's talking about?

This has been discussed countless times, just because they file bankruptcy doesn't mean they would stop making cars. I am not sure on the details but it helps them with their debt and it would get rid of the unions so they could operate at a cheaper cost. Worst case they downsize and keep just Chevy and Caddy. DO NOT CANCEL YOUR ORDER- EVEN IF THEY DO CLOSE THE DOORS COMPLETELY THEN YOU CAN SELL YOUR CAMARO FOR TWICE WHAT YOU PAID FOR IT

If they file under chapter 11...GM can do what the airlines did...operate but not close doors. This will mean HUGE and way bigger job cuts and downsizing...but it will be great for the company's longevity. And your warranty will not die with GM if they die...GM wont die but if it did..it wouldn't matter. Your lawyer sucks. Tell him to look up Chapter 11. Just because a company dies doesn't mean your car is goin to lose value...in fact it will prolly double ...i mean look at american motors or hudsons or studebaker...while thats a different era...it proves my point.

Although GM will emerge from Chapter 11 and the Camaro will most likely get built there will most probably be some buyers who will be leary for whatever reasons and cancel their order. Where this gets interesting is at some point an order cannot be cancelled or the dealer may decide to just take delivery of it for stock. I have a couple of dealers in my area watching for this. I may get mine quicker than I thought without even ordering.

Be true to yourself.

The car is guaranteed by the USA.

GM needs your business, and you need this car.

Try to explain how important it is to you, and explain the purchase protection plan to the others.

GM will come out of this a better and stronger competitor world wide we have some of the most fuel efficient vehicles of any car maker. GM's quality in the past i have to say was not good but they have certainly stepped to the next level with malibu, tahoe, silverado, and new camaro. We must all unite to help GM and this great nation.

Actually guys I would be more afraid of my dealer going out of business and losing my deposit than GM not building the car for me. We have seen some of this in my area.

Huh????? It would not "get rid of the unions". Some contract re-negotiations maybe, but not an outright elimination of organized workers.

The Camaro looks like it's going to beat you unconscious, put you in a silly hat, invite a couple of other Camaros over to take photos of you, then e-mail them to all your friends and co-workers. Call me crazy, but I like that in a car."

Keep your dream and lose the girlfriend.
With your new Camaro you can 2 or 3 new ones.

Secondly, their losses have very little to do with their vehicles.

Are you saying that cars like the Malibu, Lambda siblings, the GMT-900 trucks, the Camaro, the G8, the CTS, the G6, Impala, Aveo, Cruze, Kappa Twins, Corvette and the Volt aren't "good"? If so -- you certainly have very high standards .

Also, saying that "nobody wants to buy them" is a false statement disproven soley by the fact that they still hold the largest market share of sold vehicles in the US, and are the second-largest carmaker in the world (difference of a couple hundred thousand units between Toyota). That's a lot of nobodies.....
Unless they fully restructure and start making huge gains, I doubt we'll eve see that money back, to be honest. And with our socialist pig of a president abusing his powers and firing CEO's .. and replacing them with inexperienced people.. well idk, we'll see what good will come out of that.

also, most of those cars are actually not bad at all, but there are still come cars that are very unappealing to the market right now, like the huge gas guzzlers and such.

and ah! Those Pesky Germans!
