Flowmaster Outlaw Exhaust

Just ordered a Flowmaster Outlaw Exhaust P/N 817504 for a really good price. Not sure if I can post where I ordered from or for how much without violating some sort of rule but I got it for $155 cheaper than if I had ordered staright from the manufacturer. Free shipping and no tax. Already checked on install (probably not attempt it myself) and it'll be $80 if it bolts straight up with no issues. I will let everyone know how it all works out and what I think of it when it's all done.

That is what I am looking to get on mine as well. Do you have the L99 or LS3?

Thanks. That's what I have too. Could you let me know how it sounds when the exhaust is put on? I am curious how the AFM affects the sound when it kicks on and off.

That's a good question. I hadn't thought about the AFM. I'll be sure to see if there is an effect. I've read some bad things about AFM and aftermarket exhausts.

Take a listen to JDP motorsports and/or Stainless works Retro Chambered cat-back. They have a pretty good sound that supersedes the tradition flowmaster sound in all of their exhaust.

Got the K&N Typhoon CAI on Wednesday followed by the Flowmasters on Friday. I can certainly hear when the AFM kicks in but it didn't bother me before and it doesn't bother me now. Even my wife says it sounds just like my 05 Mustang GT after I put the Flowmaster American Thunder Axle Backs on and I've got to agree. Probably lost 50 lbs of dead weight out of the back end besides.

This REALLY kills me.... I searched for 4 months after getting my vert to find that "Mustang GT" / Flow master sound... I even ran a thread on here trying to find alternatives to FM to get that tone when the American Thunders didn't fit my car... ended up with Magnaflow when FM said they had no cat-backs planned for production...

After reading this, I'm really tempted to cut the Magnaflow muffler/X pipe out and the axl back and install this system and a true x-pipe....

Anyone have any input on the tone WITH headers? My sound really changed with the header addition... hate to go through all that for nothing...

Woodj – We’re glad you like your new Outlaw Axle-Back system. It is a great sounding system and fits the convertibles great. It’s definitely popular with the convertible owners that want an aggressive sounding exhaust.

Those convertible owners that want a more mild exhaust sound because of the top being less insulated than the coupe are happy with the Force II mild exhaust sound while still having the Flowmaster sound.

LIM3 – Are you referring to an aggressive kit like an Outlaw Axle-Back for your V6 Camaro?

Most of our exhaust systems are driven by the voice of our customers. If you’re really interested in an aggressive aftermarket exhaust system for your V6, call our toll free tech line and speak to one of our Flowmaster customer service representatives and they’ll keep track of the amount of requests in a database for future kits. Call us at 800-544-4761
