If anything, removing the cats will help since you are removing all of the restriction in the exhaust line. High flow cat is less restrictive than your factory cat.

You may bet a horse or two, but its really up to you. I put the high flows on mine, and it gave it helped mine out a lot.

What about sound? Wouldn't removing the cats hurt sound a little more?

Depends on what type of sound you are after. Removing the cats and getting rid of restrictions will give you a more defined and louder noise. Think of it as a person going with the smallest muffler they can find to get the loudest sound vs someone looking for a big muffler with lots of packing to get more of a mellow sound.

The best thing to do would be to get yourself a nice pair of headphones and go look in the exhaust sticky thread up top and listen to many many different options and combination that are available for the v6 camaro. I'm sure you will get a good idea by the time you come out of that page.

Don't worry about performance, they will be all about the same.

I've have pacesetters on my camaro for a few years. They look fine and the car lives outside. I am very happy with my pacesetters. All of them add about the same power. Just stay away from the pacesetter ypipe or the car will sound like a screaming honda on crack. The pacesetter ypipe for 4th gens suck. I'm sure they made it better for the 5th

And going with a catted ypipe will lose you 5-7hp vs non catted. But its up to you if you can deal with the smell of fumes coming in threw your vents while you drive. I have a non-catted ypipe. If you drive allot it's gonna give you headaches. And girls hate it. They says whats wrong with your car?

Well right now the set up I am planning is either the BBKs or the OBXs with a resonated x pipe, and either the SLP Powerflo axle back or the MRT 2.0s. I haven't decided on the exhaust but those are the two that I like on the computer listening through headphones. I would like to hear them in person first.

As promised. Here's the reply for BFE headers...

No v6 and no plans to do so. The 2012 v6 has the exhaust manifold built into the head.
Sorry

Sound good. If it was my choice I would do MRT V2, but you probably wouldn't even need the magnaflow resonated x with the v2 unless you are looking for more of a mellower sound.

You might not be able to pass emmisions/inspections without cats. Can't in Utah for sure.

Well I've heard that without the resonated x pipe you'll get more rasp. I figured it would mellow the sound out a little bit, but I'm not looking for real loud anyway.
