Yeah, mine said no cash accepted. So I had to dig up my checkbook last night and write it up to mail it today.

Nope, two years of ownership and no problems.

Stations charging? No one should be charging for that. Fine goes directly to the state. In California any Peace Officer can sign off a fix it ticket, regardless of the agency who wrote the citation.

I could be mistaken, but that may be the fee if you choose not to fix it. I'm speaking regarding California only. Usually there are two fees associated with what are known as fix it tickets, or correctable violations. There is a dismissal fee that is applicable if you correct the violation, or fix it. Then there is a fine if you choose not to correct the violation which generally is a much higher fee. The fix it fee is usually the same regardless if it's window tint, a head light out, tail light lens, or front plate. It used to be $10.00. I'm sure it's gone up. $48.00 seems high if you fix the violation. Then again, it is The People Republic of Kalifornia. |

But yeah the fee was $48.00. Lovely California, since we're so in debt, they go around parking lots like their trick-or-treating for easy violations. |

I don't have front plates on my motorcycle therefore I don't need front plates on my Camaro. If I don't have to wear a helmet on my motorcycle I shouldn't have to wear my seatbelt. I wear my seatbelt to stop the annoying dinging from not wearing it. It also keeps me fairly still in my seat when I am driving roughly through a turn or two.
I wish my dealership never put the bracket onto my bumper. The 4 holes in my bumper make me sick when I look at it. |

I don't have a plate on when I'm in town. When I make a road trip, I put it on using the toggle bolts and remove it as soon as I'm back home.

You are correct, I had the option of paying 90-something dollars, or fix the issue, and get it signed and send in the check for 40 or whatever to "process" the paperwork.
In regards to officers charging - it was a small sheriff station that said I had to bring 20 cash if i wanted them to sign. Pretty messed up they'd even charge to sign a simple paper. Instead, I just went to a different station and one of the ladies at the front desk signed it off. Im not surprised that the fees went up, over the last few years ticket violations cost more and more. The state just doesnt know how to spend money and has to get it SOMEWHERE i suppose... rather than fix the issue. Quote:

It's required in Texas and the dealership that had my car already installed the front bracket before I could tell them not to. Actually, the new Texas plates look pretty good on the IOM...a nice design.

I had the Swift Motorsports retractable plate on until I pulled up too far in the parking spot and tore it off
![]() so now I don't have one on. I have been pulled over twice (both by Texas State Troopers) and given a warning each time..

I don't have my Camaro yet (the plate will not be installed on the car when it gets here), but have no plate on the front of my vette, and haven't had an issue in 12 years in Texas. Drove to Canada this summer through Minnesota and never had a problem. I was parked in front of the Minneapolis courthouse for a day too (getting a passport).
