I think the question that was asked way back was a very important question that was asked. It was also keep in mind a question that the "voice" answered. I am not trying to nail AL to the rail road tracks either...
Nor does he owe us an explanation. If I come to you, and I say bro, ya know what.. I told you this a long time ago and I was in error when I told you that. That is up to you at that point to decide if you trust me. Its a trust thing and LOTS of things rolled up in one. AL is in a position to answer questions as these as precisely as possible. It is his JOB when it comes to this sort of thing. See, me and you have nothing to lose here. How do rumors start?
This is how. Only this time on a public forum its documented.
This is not a rumor. It was a legitimate question that was asked to the higher ups... You cant go any higher up than AL on this question. Al answered the question. C5 members have asked the same question. We repeat what we hear. If we hear the wrong thing from higher ups....well?
Wires get crossed things get misconstrued. This was a simple question that AL answered in his own words. How many c5 members that plan on modding theyre cars were waiting on this answer? He said NO. He did not say or even mention anything about MONEY... OR Fabrication to get it done....
He said No, and went on to explain No.
What do you thing he would say if someone asked him "Is the GT500 motor interchangeable with the ZL1?" He would have laughed and said no. But i bet with enough money It ids easily done.

MY68RS,
I think you need to calm down a bit. I think you might have the record for the most threads started in the ZL1 section. Last I counted you have started 78 threads in there, ranging from the ZL1 being the best thing since sliced bread, to not sure if you are getting it to being pissed you were "lied" to.

Sorry, but I have to agree.
I'm just going to be glad to have my car.
I don't care if someone else has a "made up" car. I know mine will be the
real thing!

It don't matter, to me , that other people, steal my idea,I felt like I the first too install
HOOD LOUVERS ON my SS. Hood louvers came on the 69 camaro's, I installed them on my 2010, and it looks great. But I know, GM didn't put Hood louvers on LT's, only
SS's, but here comes a guy with them on a LT.
EVERYBODY WANTS TOO BE LIKE MICK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree with others saying mis-spoken, but not a lie. As for people putting a ZL1 front on the V6 or SS....I say fine. It's badging it as a ZL1 that's poser. Using the front end is the same as a custom front end.
