Well today I got to finally test out the car with the new winter wheels. Yesterday I was driving on the highway with the top down mid 60's, today snowed 4-6" before I headed off to work in the 20's. Plenty of idiots on the roads this morning but the 2SS did amazing...even in the streets around my home not yet plowed this morning. Sure there was some slippage but way less than my all seasons on my old front wheel drive TSX.

I went with 18 inch Michelin x ice snow tires and OZ wheels thru tire rack last year. They worked great in the snow and cold you just cant be too aggressive with them.

Hi all, i just ordered winter Pirelli's from Tire Rack for V6 2LT, im in calgary and we get a good dump of snow plus we see temps down to -35 plus wind chill ( damn cold ) im just wandering when i get them changed over onto existing 19" chrome rim, am i likely to have any TPMS issues?

you probably will have to get them recalibrated. whenever you take tires off the wheel it is necessary. My chevy dealer did it in under a minute for no charge when I put on my winter tires on new rims, with new tpms.

19x8.5 inch Sport Editon WX5 Wheels. These have been designed to clear the brembo brakes with the roller skate dampers. You do not need to remove the dampers or switch out brake pads . Plug and Play fitment.

Recommended Tire with this package is 235/55R19 Pirelli Scorpion Ice and Snow. I prefer this tire for the Camaro because its winter performance is great and it has a stiffer sidewall when compared to many lower speed rated snow. This works great with the weight of the Camaro and they handle better in the dry when compared to a lot of other winter tires.

We can add Tire Pressure Sensors. All of our Packages come Hunter Road Forced balanced and with the mounting hardware.

You will be amazed at how well your Camaro SS can do in snow with this package.
why recommend this size which is 1/2 inch taller than stock than the 245/50/19 which are within .04 of stock?

A 1/2 inch is not much an well within the 3% to keep all of your car electronic systems happy. Also being slightly taller is a little better for snow. Also the narrower 235 will be better in the snow. I certainly do not have a problem going with 245/50R19 if the customer prefers.

Rudy I saw that Tire Rack updated the backorder date for the General G-Max to 12/16? Is this right?

snow tires

My current tire is a 19in. Not sure about exact meansurements, but could I get away with an 18in. tire for the winter months?

Has anyone used either one of these brands, and how did you feel out on the road? How long is the life on these two brands? I drive all city miles (backroads to work). I need something I can feel safe in when going through the snow and ice. I live in a SW suburb of Chicago.

They are VERY good. go for it! I think the pirellis will last an extra season or 2 over the Blizzaks
