I love cars. It's been my passion since I was 3 years old. I dragged all my die cast toys through 5 years of war in a backpack with me, and I brought them all with me when I migrated to the United States. I still have them and I will pass them on to my kids. I love reading about cars, I love driving cars, I love looking at cars, I love talking to people about cars and I love working on them. But at the end of the day, there are more important things to worry about and stress over. Does it make me happy to own a nice car or to buy things for it? Yes it does. Does it make me happier than spending time with my family or friends, or a nice vacation? Hell no. We all have our priorities I guess, mine are just different.

I wonder if GM will sell the ZL1 parts separately. When the the 4th Gen was still in production the only way you could order a OEM WS6 or SS hood if had a VIN that was a SS or WS6. Same goes for the wheels on my TB SS; you needed a real TB SS VIN to order direct from the dealer.

The way things are going, I may have to look into putting a ZL1 fascia on my POS 2002 Altima

LoL... Shu..... SLP carried the GM SS hood for the longest time not needing a VIN #

I even bought a GM 2005-2006 GTO hood from SLP, they had a limited run and i bought one for my 2004 GTO and it was only about $450

I'm sure if GM thinks they can make money by selling ZL1 parts they will surely try...

I hate to be obtuse but why does it matter so much what other people think of your car or what they do with theirs? it's your car whether it's a ZL1, RS, SS or LS. We didn't buy these cars impress people, did we? If You buy a car to impress people then your priorities aren't in the right place. If you care that much what other people think and do, that isn't a good thing. There are much more important things to focus on in this life. Sure we all are what people think and I know we all enjoy the attention our cars get. But being this upset over something so trivial is, in my humble opinion, a total waste of time and energy.

It is a Camaro. It's a mass produced car, not a rolls Royce or a Bentley. If people want to pose, let them. Who cares what everyone else does? It's what YOU do in this life that counts.

GM didn't deliberately LIE to anyone. This isn't some big conspiracy. It was an oversight on their part-- and the people who answered that question about what would fit what likely never assembled the cars or looked st the design closely enough to say with absolute certainty one way or the other so they just said whatever. It was an oversight or misinformation. No one did it on purpose and no one sat down and said "let's make a liar out of that guy and make the parts interchangeable." This happens all the time. It's smart money wise to produce a body/frame that different fascias can be put on. GM is in it to make money. Don't we want them to succeed? R&D to develop a whole new car would be so expensive that the price would skyrocket. They are trying to keep it as affordable as possible, which we ALL want or we would be on an Aston Martin forum bragging about our new DB9's.

If someone wants to slap a different bumper or fascia or a fake badge on a car... WGAS? Let 'em. You've got better things to do than care, and that person has to walk around knowing they are a poser. And trust me they know, and think about it often, and are scared of being called out on it. Chuckle and walk away.

Not trying to sound sanctimonious. Just my .02....

More affordable than a Corvette or Aston Martin or Lambo or Ferrari etc etc etc

I don't think putting the fascia on an SS is posing at all. I agree it is customizing just like a custom bumper or fascia would be as long as it doesn't say ZL-1 on it. Some people just don't see it that way apparently.

How about this, maybe who ever does this, just likes the way ZL1 fascia looks and me for one don't like the mailslot on the SS, yet I want the V8 and the power of the V8, so being that it is my car, I don't care what other people think, and will add what I want to my SS, but would never add ZL1 badging.....
