I said that was not good for me I needed my car towed back to my local dealer, 38 miles. Well we can only tow you 20 miles at no charge. Are you kidding me??? I have a warranty PROBLEM and you can not tow me the 38 miles????? Im sorry mr..... So I called my insurance company and they towed my car. It turned out to be the wiring harness was kind of smashed when the factory installed it so they had to make some repairs. Onstar can kiss my a$$
I believe the policy language in the warranty states that roadside assistance is required to tow the vehicle to the nearest dealer/warranty center. You don't get to pick where your car gets towed for a warranty claim. It's not really OnStar--they're acting on behalf of GM's wishes.

The dealership that they were going to tow me to was closed, How was I supposed to get home??? I couldnt get my wife to pick me up her car was also at a dealership. I think that they could have made an exception. Otherwise screw Onstar!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Rkponting - With the help of some advanced technology, OnStar Vehicle Diagnostics is able to tell you when your car actually needs an oil change, not just after 3,000 miles. I do some digital work for OnStar and just wanted to share this link with you. It has a lot more details about oil life and other vehicle diagnostics http://onstarconnections.com/2011/05...th-confidence/

I like Onstar & the navigation.

I actually just renewed the Safe & Sound + Navigation + 100 minutes for 12 months for 148.92.

Insurance discount covers it, so paying for it one way or the other. Same with security system for the house, actually that discount is $11 more a month than the security service, so making money on that one sort of.

I've had my car since February 4th, 2012 ... The dealership tried to enroll me twice ... I've enrolled about a dozen times since then. On Star continues to send me email and snail mail with VIN #'s that don't belong to my vehicle. Cannot download directions to my vehicle. I've spend countless HOURS with them on the phone, sitting in my vehicle and I'm still (even today) trying to get their technical service department to figure out whatever their 'system' issues are. I'm disappointed with their lack of customer service when I go through my story EVERY time I speak to someone. The response I got tonight was "we'll escalate the problem and call you" ... I asked when I can expect the call ... 7-10 days. Same response I got 10 days ago.

It's difficult to evaluate a system with a free trial when you never even have the opportunity to experience what they have to offer.

I'm installing an aftermarket navigation system ...
