I think you give some of these dealers to much credit...

tell the dealer you put an exhaust on it and "put alot in it" and leave it at that. hopfully you would get whatever excellent shape brings on the good ole' Black book.

Yea, my dealer told me that he would actually buy a modded car for much less than if it was original. The more OEM the car is, the more you'll get for it.

Wow... I couldn't imagine finding a car like mine on a lot somewhere and wonder WTF is wrong with it.....

Does the car pass emissions testing with the cam? I'd agree with the previous poster. The average Camaro buyer isn't going to want to buy a used one that appears to have been run hard, which having an aftermarket performance cam would indicate. The last car I had a cam in that was traded was returned back to original before I traded.

Trading the cam back to stock wouldnt be worth the $1500 to do. I would sooner take the hit in the trade in value. Shit, the only stock part I have left is my airbox....somewhere...lol

Dealers can't warranty a car with performance related mod's. This means you will LIKELY get less for it.

Yep. I traded in a cammed silverado as well, with other things I did to it. Dealer gave me quite a bit more than expected. He stated that there was a slight shortage of used vehicles in the economy, and he knew he could resell the truck pretty fast.

Also, the mustang I got while in the army had everything from cams, to a autometer tach in it, got that from a ford dealer. The chevy dealer by fort huachuca had a cammed and heavily modded corvette sitting on the lot (test drove, awesome). Yea I dont see many dealers saying no, from what ive seen first hand

A dealer will take anything, but it could backfire and they could offer you LESS since it's been modified. Private sale is always the way to go. You get more $$$ and the buyer gets more car for their $$$. win win
