First, a popular Camaro forum reported (based on “inside” information from one of thier members) that a “Z28″ was coming on January 1, 2012.

This seemed a little fishy at first, since the Canada Union workers wouldn’t be working on a Sunday New Years day. Then we learned it wasn’t even the Z28, it was the Camaro ZL1.

So, it was expected the ZL1 would start production on January 2nd. Some order (too many in fact) were pulled, and with a miusunderstanding and an omission in some option codes, they were all dumped back to 1100 status. To date, there has not been any ZL1 allocation to dealers, including this week’s build submission. That said, a January build seems to be in question.

The FIRST cycle to submit ZL1 orders (dealer allocation) will be next week. With the average 8 weeks from submission to production build week, this should place the ZL1 Production start the week of February 6th, 2012…. I would think after the initial QA hold, shipping etc, the first ones should be hitting lots in early March.

these posts seem just like pricing to me people guessing. I saw zero correct inside information on that one. We will know pretty soon for sure.

I put no more stock in feb 6th than jan 30th. or feb 13th for that matter. it is all about material at this point. the orders are placed do they have parts? if they procured a start up supply for base configuraion for jan based on expected production I see no reason they could not start in jan. If they are waiting to purchase inventory based on orders being pulled in then it will most likely be feb.

Hello every one can some one look at this and tell me is this looks ok? I got my order on 12/7 that's what is say ((CT000) Vehicle has been entered into the system and will be updated the following business day in most cases.).

Heard from the Fleet Director on my order status changing to 2030. She's telling me its because Imperial Blue isn't available and asking me if I have another color choice.

What color is everyone ordering that changed to a status 2030 yesterday?
