I have a male friend and our relationship is, always was, and always will be totally platonic. We even lived together for over a year with no hanky-panky. We would go out to a bar and split up, go do our own thing, or grab a table and help each other make new "friends" but if anyone asked us if we were married, or "together" we'd both blurt out NO!! right away. He found himself a girlfriend though, and SHE just could not see ANY type of relationship continuing so I haven't seen my buddy Ro-Ro in about 8 years.
So I say yes it's possible.

I have a few female friends two of which are VERY close friends, the kind where you never have to watch what you say and never worry about offending, pretty sweet actually. We acknowledge and tease each other about the sexual tension stuff but that's as far as it goes.
They met my wife when I first started dating her and now they are buds as well.

I think that it developed this way because back when we all got together the first time each of us was in a long term relationship and 'friends' just became the norm.

I have several theories on this;
theory#1 is what I refer to as the "dicks in a jar" syndrome, yet it be a shoulder to cry on, a metro shopping buddie, a guidance counselor, or just a general compliment booster, etc. Females often carry these jars around and even label them, they may have different jars for holidays,proms, weddings, office partys etc. There is a specific jar to meet all needs and a selection at hand. when they need one for a specific reason they pull one out, use it for time period to achieve goal or task at hand then return for the time being.
Theory #2 The answer YES! Most women who have there jar and refer to all that reside inside as "friends". Friends that reside in the jar are there when you need them, help you in your task, and play the role, women act as if they are truly a metro shopping buddy/"true friend" blah blah, when indeed the answer YES comes into play, If given the opportunity.. with or without alcohal involved or maybe a lonley night, or a time of need(ex just dumped her)distress period, maybe you just twinkled at him the right way for the first time etc. and the opportunity presented itself the answer is YES they would ladies!! and I know many ladies would like to believe the answer would be "oh no he would not do that", because there sweet straight shopping fashion buddy would never...ITS BULL LADIES... I hate to break it to you the answer is always yeah they would, otherwise they would not be there. that's reality admit it!

Yes, it is. But only after the man has made the conscious decision (both when sober AND especially, when drunk) that he does not want to sleep with her... EVER. Then its possible. And usually that requires a pretty homely woman... or homosexual man.

Granted when I was younger, the female friends I had I always thought of "if given a chance for more, I'll take it"

Now that I am happily married, do not have huge problems, it is totally possible.
It became totally apparent to me just now why I felt the need to defend myself so often when I went down to Tennessee to visit my ex-girlfriends younger sister.

I was defending myself because of how all the guys answered in this video, and how I felt in the past.

I'd be stupid to run off with my ex's sister. I left that drama 14 years ago when I stopped seeing her sister, and visiting her made me appreciate my life and marriage so much more.

P.S. Ex-girlfriend was killed in 1999 by a drunk driver. I don't think I had seen her in 2 years at that point.

There are a few possibilities, namely if both people arent attracted to each other. I have a few female friends I wouldnt ever get into bed with but literally all of the others I either would hook up with or I do.

Fact is guys like hanging out with other guys more than hanging out with a girl who is just a friend. We generally only befriend a girl if we want to sleep with them.

And as you saw in this video, be suspect of ANY girl that says anything to the effect of, "Oh all my friends are guys."

Even if she isnt interested in them at the moment, odds are almost all of them like her and will do what they can to try and get her into bed. Horrible candidates for dating, just use them as a jump off.

Okay so what does that say about all of us Camaro club gals? Do all of our male club friends just want to jump in bed with us? Can we ever trust that a male friend is really just a friend? I have a blast hanging out with all my camaro comrads male & female. Yeah, as with most relationships with guys, there is good natured ribbing & sexual innuendo and I am sure some of the guys have those thoughts, but all of them?
