ABQ Emissions

What can you guys/ gals tell me about ABQ emissions? I have lived in Rio Rancho for the past 12 years and just recently bought a house on the wrong side of the street (literally).

How tough are they to pass? Long tube headers out of the Question? Hi-flow Cats?

thanks for the assistance...

thats what I wanted to hear... Assuming you have gone though inspection with the car as is then? I'm sure ABQ is nothing like Cali, but I just didn't know if they only hook a sensor to the tailpipe and read the numbers or if they do a visual inspection as well?

I don't think there would be any problems with the noweeds as they are past the cats. My only slight worry would be if they use a sniffer tool as they do leak a little at the new outlet even when closed.

Thanks for the help guys/ gals. Anyone with first hand experience of the inspection routine? Do they just simply hook a sensor to the tailpipe and the comp gives a "pass or no pass"?

From some one with long tube headers and high flow cats on a 2009 (2010) RS. No sniffer test they will plug in the computer on our car and if there no more than three cods on your car you have got it made.

Pass along a "known" good place perhaps if you'd had some luck....perhaps it might be of use to those who need to do the test.

If the guy knows we'll be bringing him some business perhaps they'll be able to be a little more helpful for y'all.

Agreed. I lived in Rio Rancho the last 12 years (where I still work and do 90% of my driving) and they do not have emissions. This will be new for me this year.
