Approach angles are the key.

That car is sitting 3 inches down??? It sure doesn't look like it...

It does look like you have smaller wheels which would help with one of the issues associated with running a car that low.

We run 305/30/19s which drops the car and the suspension is dialed down over 60mm so it would be very close to a 3" drop. The OE 20s would be nicely tucked.

i am going with the springs and sway bars. just because its so much cheaper route and i feel you get more. but there is no arguing that coilovers are the best.with that said, i would much rather have springs and sways over just coilovers if it came down to it. people keep talking about ride being rougher with springs, but its like have you ever been in real sports car?lol the camaro feels like a caddy to cars i have owned/driven.

I just bought a set of Pedders 1.3"/1.5" drop coils! Can't wait to get them in but I won't have it on the road till spring so I won't know how they ride till then. Should look sick with my new Forgeline F14's and 315 rears! Yea, I blew my budget on wheels so I couldn't get coilovers this time, maybe next year! I'll be looking at a set of Pedders Xa's then!

Then I'm going to bet you've never had a real set of coilovers.

Having had a set of springs, sway bars, and coilovers.....I would give up springs/sway bars for a good set of coilovers with the factory sway bars any day. That's me though.

Coilovers are the best choice if your budget allows. There is no way to get that sort of drop and ride with ANY regular drop spring on the market. They just aren't designed that way. Coilovers are the best thing to happen to aftermarket suspension since low profile tires were developed.

Otherwise, drop a rear sway bar on it and a set of Drop Springs and kill it!

For 85% of the Camaro owners out there, a better rear sway is all you'll need to reduce rear push on this particular car.

Dropping it helps it dramatically as well.

See what your goals are for your car and if serious road racing and/or dedicated stance is your goal, then save for a set of NICE coilvers from Pfadt or Pedders.

If you're looking into just "making it better while giving it THAT look" then look to one of us for packages that fit your budget and give you exactly what you need.

Good luck OP!
Ivan

i do see your point, and trust me for my age i have been in some serious rides and drove a few. so i know what a good handling cars should somewhat feel like. but getting back to my point, maybe this statement will be wrong. but i am getting my springs and sways plus installed for around a grand. coilovers are over a grand for just parts. wont there be more value in the springs and sways considering how much less it is ? again might be wrong.

I am such a shy and retiring guy it is hard for me to mention that at SEMA this year GM celebrated 100 years of Chevrolet. They showed 24 vehicles. 17 of them were on Pedders coilovers. They showed 5 Camaros. The 1LE and Carbon ZL1 were on Chevrolet's MRC. The Synergy, Red Zone and Hot Wheels were on Pedders.

At SEMA, it is routine for companies to give product away for exposure. I'll never understand how that works or why. I have a deal with GM. I buy GM cars. GM BUYS Pedders parts. They could have had FREE suspension from many others companies and GM choose to buy Pedders. For the last two years, every on track Camaro Pace Car that you saw at INDY or NASCAR was riding on Pedders. So does Dale Jr's Camaro, Jay Leno's Camaro... There is a pattern here.

GM doesn't owe Pedders any type of recognition and they choose to put Pedders on the wheel stands and in the special SEMA brochures. I can't thank GM enough for their business and for acknowledging Pedders quality by association.
