No matter what car 3k or 3months. It's not that I don't trust syn oil to hold up. I don't trust the filters. You ever crack one open after 3k? There shot.

You trust GM Technology to tell you when your oil should come out?! They cant even make proper power windows!

No regular schedule. I have changed it 4 times in 12K miles. I keep the car stored in the winter so come spring I get an oil change as soon as I get it out of storage.

Probably no particular reason but my thoughts are it won't hurt anything to change the oil more often, except for my wallet.

+1 but might drop it down to 3K. I got extended warranty when I purchased my car and had services (oil changes) included. So technically I can change the oil whenever I please. Dealership always tries to say I have to wait till is about 5% before they can . I think they're full of crap. Time to switch dealerships!

When the car tells me to do it. If you're changing Mobil1 every 3k, you're throwing money out the window.

(and probably feeling quite smug about it. )

Every 3500 or so for me, mainly because Im always taking my car back and forth from TX to OK. I bring my own oil to the dealership, when I cant do it, and have them change it so I have service records for it.

I run castrol GTX every 3k. I used mobil 1 one time and it increased my oil burning on my 4th gen. NEVER again will I use mobil 1

Doesn't sound like a problem with the oil.
