Ha yea i know but the trucks a diffrent kind of power. They generally have twice as much torque as they do horsepower. So 500hp = 1000 torque which can be fun for some 4wd launchs but obviously the weight is a big factor but theres a few stock body and frame duramaxs in the 9 sec range.
The engine parts are just stupid expensive though. But it can tow my zl1 to the track for me now lol

There is always someone faster then you. Sure you have a 400hp car that weighs allot. But there is some crazy Sob's out there who have stock looking cars with a turbo under there boosting up to 20psi. I seen boosted Honda's destroy stock v8's. Hell I been killed myself by a turbo CRX. Just remember. You have a fast car. But don't let it get to your head. Because there is plenty of trucks and little cars out there that can put you in your place.

Seriously dude?... Regardless of the fast increasingly competitive market, and the abundance of stupid cars modified to be fast(er), Camaro SS is no slouch. Even hot off the press it's relatively formidable.

They actually have these vehicles? with my Harley, I usually hear the usedta or gonna gets. The usedtas ALWAYS used to have one much much better than what you have, and the gonna gets are always going to get one much much better than yours. Ignore them. I also hear "whatcha got in that a 350? I usually say no, "it's a six" even though it is an L99.

I learned a lesson at New England Dragway one street night. In the next lane was a huge white Jeep Grand Cherokee, I thought, "i am going to leave him for dead". There was a time when you knew exactly who could and who couldn't whoop your butt. These days it isn't all that clear, and that's the exact reason I'm driving a Camaro SS.

Story: My first trip to the 1/4 mile in my 2008 Mustang Bullitt modded with a throttlebody and Corsa exhaust and it looks bad to the bone..Right? I line up with a Chevy Cobalt SS and it blew me away! 13.6 is the absolute best ET with the Mustang and so, with 7,500 miles on it, I drove to the Chevy dealership and bought some power! Now there are hundreds of cars that will beat the Camaro and I can't afford a ZR1!

Must be different in Ohio, I've never had anyone say anything like that to me. The only comparison I get is how does the Camaro HP stack up against the Mustang GT.

TRUE STORY
My friends boyfriend had a civic, he talked for months about how he would smoke my car. Him and all his JDM friends talked soo much smack about my car. They have a bunch of civics with motor swaps and so on. Some are quick, but not his or his friends.
One day were all hanging out, he starts to talk smack, im like alright lets go.
His GF gets in his car, my gf gets in mine. All my other friends roll out in theirs.
We go over to my friends private owned stretch.
I SMOKED HIM! Like bus lenghts.
We drive over to the grocery store to buy some bbq supplies. Go to the cash register, all the items start moving down the conveyor and his GF goes to him and says "Hey Simon look, its faster then your car!"

I SWEAR ON MY LIFE--he sold his car two days after and I never heard BS from his JDM friends again.

So people will talk smack, most of them have shitty cars and wont come out when called out, but for those that do, they tend to lose and take it badly.

When I had my 87 GN my sister was a senior in high school (~2000). This kid she knew there had a new V6 Camaro. All he would do is talk about how he would "Blow his doors off" "blow their doors off" blah blah blah trying to look like he was a racer or something. So my sister says, how about my brother's car, and before even hearing what it was he said "I'll blow his doors off too", so she says "yeah, he wants to run you for slips." he replies "Sure I'll do that, I need a daily driver". At this point some of her friends start giggling, an he gets mad and says "Whats so funny?" My sister replies "He has a Grand National... ohh and its not stock either. Where do you want to run? I'll call him now." He couldn't get the words out fast enough like "Ohh maybe not... uhh yeah thats not gonna happen.... I don't wanna get arrested or anything."
