That's why I got electronic cut-outs. Sure, they may not make my car any faster, but they make my car sound a lot meaner. The laymen idiot that thinks their car is fast will usually shy away when they hear open headers

I can tell you this for sure. A 2011 Ford F-250 4X4 turbo diesel with a programmer will blow the doors off of a stock SS at launch. These trucks are putting down some fast 1/4 mile numbers too.

i am not tacky about bragging when it comes to my car's acceleration capabilities, but i will certainly put someone in their place when they speak out of ignorance.

if you know the simple stats: rated at 426hp, 13.0 in the quarter mile (LS3), 4.6 seconds 0-60, and the popular cars it beat in the nurburgring, then most people will shut up after you mention them. if they don't believe me i generally end discussions with telling people to go look them up. as for people wanting to race me, i generally just give them the "that's pretty immature" comment, because in reality it is.

haven't you ever noticed that the majority of people who own the truly fast cars do not street race? i guess it's a factor of age + wealth + wisdom + intelligence. i see the honda civic or the WRX driving like an idiot 99% more often than i see the vette or the R8 driver being an idiot.

this is so not true. i would venture that probably 85-90% of the cars on the road are not anywhere nearly as quick as a stock camaro. besides, most "non-stock" camaros are only ~30hp better than stock, which really is not THAT significant of an increase.

I'd venture to agree that 51% of the cars on the road couldn't outrun my camaro.

I'd say more like 70%. You forget how eco-friendly 90% of the foreign cars are, and how slow a lot of the trucks are. And how old the rest of them are

Haha that happens to me all the time. A friend of mine thinks his stock '05 Mustang GT can beat me, but he and I "cant race until this summer because he cant afford any speeding tickets". I just roll my eyes and laugh.

I like to use http://www.zeroto60times.com/Chevrol...mph-Times.html
to determine the acceration of the cars. I like to compare a stock build as a basis for comparing two models.
Otherwise you might buy an affordable 5000 dollar honda civic and add turbo's and spray would "outrun" many much more expensive vehicles so you are getting great bang for buck.

Not sure for most of this. Most part the truck is stock with a programmer. Specs should be on Fords site. I ran against it in my L99 and it really took me by surprise that this big truck could run like that....lol. After found out that these trucks (f-250 & Duramax) are running some really fast times (11 & 12's). The launch with the 4wd is incredible!

I take those comments as a compliment. I bet you Toyota Prius owners don't get that kind of attention!

Back in the day (Early 90's) I used to drive a 5.0 Mustangs. Well everyone used to say my car will beat a 5.0.........It was all I heard all the time. It's a good thing to have a car that people use to measure their performance to.

Ya ford needs a turbo in there to be faster.

Yeah, even though I own it, I can't handle all the power. Which is cool - that's what I wanted.

I was looking at F250 s a couple months ago. I test drove three of them, a 2011, and two 2012, all diesel. the 1/4 mile time on a stock F250 is over 16 seconds. 0-60 is about 8.5 seconds.
They cost about $55k with good options. The diesels I was looking at were 6.7 L turbo rated at 400 hp and 800 ft. lbs. torque. Anyone who says a stock F250 can take or even hang with a stock camaro SS doesn't have a clue what the hell they are talking about. Modified may be a different story. They feel fast for a truck, but they are still a big heavy truck. If theyre running 11s and 12s, it s more than just a programmer.
