Cheap but useful auxiliary gauge that hooks up to the OBDII port and provides real-time info. http://www.ultra-gauge.com

I love living in Houston ...sunny and upper 60's to low 70's this weekend. Was able to get the car completely cleaned up and 4 coats of Zaino on it (2-Z5, 2-Z2). Didn't think it was possible to make SGM stand out more but wow! Will try to get out and take some new pictures tomorrow.

Well, crappy! Made it to 5100 miles before something went wrong.

Started off on Friday last week with an intermittent rhythmic screech sound from under the hood - like metal on metal bearings going out on a pulley sound. By the time I made it home from work, the screech sound had stopped and been replaced with an equally rhythmic ticking sound. :(

Pull off the Vararam intake and poked around a bit. Looks like the ticking sound is coming from the belt that runs the A/C compressor. The front most rib on the belt has pretty much been chewed off and the belt is splitting between the first and second rib. Nice...

Ribbed belts just don't magically start to shred unless one of the two pulleys is out of alignment. It's either the crank pulley or the A/C compressor. Either way, the car is now sitting at the dealership to see what they can figure out...

Well, new belt installed and they verified that the crank pulley wobble isn't out of spec (yet). They re-torqued the main pulley and sent me on my way. Said if it happens again, they'll take the next step of replacing either the crank pulley or the AC compressor (& pulley). One of those is causing the belt failure, if it wasn't just a defective belt to begin with...

We shall see....

Talking

Been busy at work lately but managed to get some stuff done recently.

First off - hit 10k miles last week. Miles are flying by...

Next up, new green stuff - SGM bowties from Big Worm Graphics, Anvil Auto fiberglass spoiler, and some extra SGM under the hood. (all paint done by Eric @ http://www.ericscustomfinishes.com/ in Pearland, TX.)

And lastly, my Camaro finally gets a name (by way of new license plates): NVSBL [Can't wait for the first time I get pulled over..."...but officer, how'd you see me, my car's invisible?"
