Transmission Noise

I have an issue with my transmission that I am hoping the forums can help me with. I have been noticing that my manual SS makes an awful lot of noise while slow maneuvering. It makes a very noticeable clunking noise while under very little engine strain and I push the clutch to the floor, almost as if something is loose.

I took it to the dealer, they said this noise was characteristic of the transmission and nothing to worry about. The tech. said that these transmissions are very large and built to handle the torque so they are bullet proof, but a little noisy. I have to be a little cynical about this, thinking that it might be a load of BS but I am not sure what to believe.

I appreciate any help.

Mine does the same thing but sometimes it drives me crazy. It's been doing that for 4k miles. I hope it stops someday.

Do a search to ease your mind. It's normal in the SS cars. People have referred to it as "drive line slack" if that helps your search.

I've driven 3 SS cars and they all did it.
